  • Patent number: 11913301
Abstract: A bellows assembly for a downhole tool includes a first seal ring, a second seal ring, and a bellows positioned at least partially between the first and second seal rings. The first seal ring, the second seal ring, and the bellows are integral with one another such that the bellows assembly is monolithic. The bellows is configured to expand and retract. The bellows is annular and has a diameter that varies over a length of the bellows. A material composition of the bellows varies over the length of the bellows.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 8, 2022
Date of Patent: February 27, 2024
    Assignee: Schlumberger Technology Corporation
    Inventors: Srinand Karuppoor, Abbigail Ullrich

  • Patent number: 11274522
Abstract: An apparatus and method for using a pressure-powered tool to perform a downhole operation in a well determine the operating condition of the tool based on indications of pressure in a region associated with the tool. If the pressure indications are indicative of an undesired operating condition, corrective action is taken, such as mechanically shifting the tool or rupturing the rupture disc of an electric rupture disc (ERD) system to shift the tool to a desired operating condition.

Date of Patent: March 15, 2022
    Assignee: SCHLUMBERGER TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION
Inventors: Chao Wang, Julien Bost, Vincent Nicolas, Abbigail Ullrich, Quangen Du
  • Patent number: 11067106
Abstract: A system and method for providing redundancy in hydraulic circuits in multi-cycle hydraulic tools is described. The problems of dysfunctional hydraulic tool due to the failure of electromechanical actuators are addressed by providing redundant actuators and associated circuitry design.

  • Patent number: 10514104
Abstract: A technique enables mechanical control of a directional valve. The technique may utilize a system comprising a directional valve which is mechanically actuatable between a plurality of flow positions. The directional valve is mechanically coupled with an indexer mechanism. The indexer mechanism may be shifted to a plurality of desired indexer positions defined by a cam track. As the indexer mechanism is shifted between indexer positions, the mechanical link between the indexer mechanism and the directional valve mechanically shifts the directional valve to selected flow positions of the plurality of flow positions.
