  • Publication number: 20090177023
Abstract: The device described in the present invention can trap plugging particles contained in the liquid feed supplying a reactor functioning in gas and liquid co-current down-flow mode using a specific distributor tray comprising a filtration medium. The present device is of particular application to the selective hydrogenation of feeds containing acetylenic and dienic compounds.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 24, 2006
    Publication date: July 9, 2009
    Inventors: Abdelhakim Koudil, Christophe Boyer
  • Patent number: 7521027
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for circulation of a gaseous and/or liquid fluid through at least one solid particle bed equipped with at least one bypass means acting on at least one part of said fluid through at least one part of a solid particle bed, said bypass means comprising: a pipe whose top end discharges above the upper surface of the catalyst bed and whose bottom end discharges below said surface, and a valve that is made to be actuated in the open position when the differential pressure through the solid particle bed is greater than a predetermined value, said valve including means allowing the automatic variation of the passage section of the fluid based on the fluid flow rate.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 28, 2005
Date of Patent: April 21, 2009
    Assignee: Institut Francais Due Petrole
    Inventors: Christophe Boyer, Abdelhakim Koudil
  • Patent number: 7303733
Abstract: The present invention concerns a gas/liquid(s) separation system constituted by three different sections: a primary separator (1) for flows with a G/L in the range 0.1 to 10; a secondary separator (2) for flows with a G/L in the range 10 to 50; a system (3) which limits the formation of a liquid vortex; where G/L is the ratio of the gas to liquid mass flow rates.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 26, 2003
Date of Patent: December 4, 2007
    Assignee: Institut Francais du Petrole
Inventors: Christophe Boyer, Abdelhakim Koudil, Thiery Gauthier
  • Patent number: 7172733
Abstract: A device suitable for atomization and injection of a hydrocarbon batch into a reaction chamber comprises an admission and mixing chamber (5) for the liquid hydrocarbon batch introduced into the device by a tube (8) and for an atomization gas introduced into the device by a cylindrical casing (9) containing tube (8). Casing (9) is extended by a Venturi tube (6) which has a convergent part connected upstream to cylindrical casing (9) and a divergent part connected downstream to a hemispheric tip (7) that leads, by a rectangular slit with an opening angle (16) between about 100 and 115 degrees, to the reaction chamber. The device can be used in processes for catalytic cracking of heavy hydrocarbons.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 6, 2003
Date of Patent: February 6, 2007
    Assignee: Institut Francais du Petrole
