  • Publication number: 20250091894
Abstract: A method for preparing mesoporous copper oxide (CuO) includes providing a copper composition including copper (Cu), phenanthroline, and a Schiff base, combining the copper composition with a sodium salt to provide a salt mixture, and calcining the salt mixture to provide the mesoporous CuO. The mesoporous copper oxide has an ordered structure and a diameter ranging from about 0.5 ?m to about 3 ?m.

  • Patent number: 10494722
Abstract: The sulfonamide corrosion inhibitors are compounds of formula A or formula B, as follows: A method of synthesizing the sulfonamide corrosion inhibitors includes functionalizing a polyamine precursor with a sulfonyl chloride derivative by dehydrochlorination. The polyamine precursor may be bis(3-aminopropyl)amine and the sulfonyl chloride derivative may be methanesulfonyl chloride. The sulfonamide corrosion inhibitors may be applied alone or in any combination as corrosion inhibitors of a metal and are shown to be effective inhibitors of corrosion of iron or iron alloys in acidic conditions.

  • Patent number: 10017474
Abstract: The method of synthesizing (E)-1,2-di(pyridine-2-yl)ethene-1,2-diol involves dimerization of 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde (also referred to herein as “picolinaldehyde”). The synthesis of the desired ethene-1,2-diol is achieved using a Cu(II) catalyst to dimerize picolinaldehyde under mild conditions. Preferably, the Cu(II) catalyst is a Cu(II)/neocuproine (2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) complex, or other Cu(II)/phen complex. The reaction in this embodiment may occur at room atmosphere and in ambient light conditions using a water/ROH solvent.
