Patent number: 9763004Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling an audio conference are provided. In one aspect, a system includes a transmitting device which receives audio signals representing sounds captured by at least two microphones from participants situated at a first location. A time-of-arrival delay between at least two of the audio signals is calculated and a beam-formed monaural audio signal and corresponding spatial data are generated and transmitted to remote participants situated at a second location. A receiving device processes the beam-formed monaural audio signal based on the spatial data to render and output spatial audio via speakers to the remote participants at the second location. In various aspects, the spatial data may include an angular value or a participant identifier that are determined based on the time-of-arrival delay. The spatial data may also indicate a total number of conference participants that are detected at the first location.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2013Date of Patent: September 12, 2017Assignee: Alcatel LucentInventors: Walter Etter, Rabih Abou-Chakra, Abdelkrim Moulehiawy

Patent number: 8098812Abstract: The invention concerns a method of controlling an adaptation of a filter, and a controller and a computer program product to execute this method. The filter is an adaptive finite impulse response (=FIR) filter for modelling an echo path impulse response for echo cancellation in a telecommunications connection between a first terminal providing a near-end signal at a first end of the telecommunications connection and a second terminal providing a far-end signal at another end of the telecommunications connection. In a multi-windowing scheme, a plurality of filter segments and segments of the far-end signal is determined in the time domain. An energy level associated to an individual segment of the far-end signal is compared with an energy level associated to a sample of the near-end signal. In dependence on the result of the comparison of the energy levels, the adaptation of an individual filter segment associated to the individual segment of the far-end signal is enabled or inhibited.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2006Date of Patent: January 17, 2012Assignee: Alcatel LucentInventors: Moulay Fadili, Sutharshini Illango, Abdelkrim Moulehiawy

Publication number: 20070116275Abstract: A device is dedicated to encrypting/decrypting data in a communication equipment able to exchange data with another data equipment of an equivalent type via at least one communication network entailing modulation/demodulation. This device comprises processing means adapted i) in the event of setting up a call between their called equipment and a calling equipment with a view to transmitting data to generate a first message to the calling equipment containing in a non-standard facilities field first data for determining a primary encryption key then to determine that primary encryption key as a function of the first data and ii) in the event of reception from the calling equipment of a second message containing (possibly in a field of the message) second data representative of its ability to encrypt data to be transmitted and then of encrypted data to decrypt the received encrypted data by means of the primary encryption key.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2006Publication date: May 24, 2007Inventors: Moulay Fadili, Jerremy Zrihen, Abdelkrim Moulehiawy

Patent number: 5712983Abstract: Each station is connected to the token ring network (5) through station and token ring interface units, the latter of which units has a switch (37) for connecting the station to the token ring (5) to transmit signals it receives in digital form either from the token ring or from the station via the associated station interface unit. The data signal received from a station clocked by an oscillator of that station is transcoded in the associated token ring interface unit before it is recoded in its original form under the control of an oscillator (12) common to the stations of the device which is slaved to the oscillator of one of the stations taken as a master station.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1994Date of Patent: January 27, 1998Assignee: Alcatel N.V.Inventors: Gerard Vergnaud, Abdelkrim Moulehiawy, Gerard Vuillemin, Olivier Lemezec
