  • Publication number: 20210179115
Abstract: A method and associated system for monitoring the on-vehicle yaw-rate sensor includes determining a vehicle heading during vehicle operation and determining a first vehicle heading parameter based thereon. A second vehicle heading parameter is determined via the yaw-rate sensor. A yaw-rate sensor bias parameter is determined based upon the first vehicle heading parameter and the second vehicle heading parameter. A first yaw term is determined via the yaw-rate sensor, and a final yaw term is determined based upon the first yaw term and the yaw-rate sensor bias parameter.

  • Patent number: 10081400
Abstract: A vehicle includes a body and an active air dam assembly. The body has a first end facing an ambient airflow and a second end facing away from the ambient airflow. The assembly is disposed at the first or second end and controls the ambient airflow between the body and a road surface. The assembly includes an adjustable flap, an actuator, sensors, and a controller. The flap shifts between different stowed and deployed positions. The actuator moves the flap, e.g., via a shaft. Each sensor measures a separate performance parameter of the actuator. The controller executes a method to receive the measured performance parameters, identify a fault mode of the air dam assembly from among different possible fault modes using the performance parameters, and execute a control action corresponding to the identified fault mode.

  • Patent number: 8677748
Abstract: An apparatus includes an operating conditions module that interprets a number of compressor operating parameters; a compressor flow module that determines a compressor inlet flow in response to the number of compressor operating parameters; and a fresh air flow module that provides a fresh air flow value in response to the compressor inlet flow. The operating conditions module further interprets a current mass air flow value, and the apparatus further includes a mass air flow sensor trimming module that adjusts a mass air flow sensor drift value in response to the current mass air flow value and the fresh air flow value. The apparatus includes a diagnostics module that determines a mass air flow sensor is failed in response to the current mass air flow value and the fresh air flow value.
