    Abstract: A method of and a composition for treating wood with an insecticide. The composition comprises an insecticide such as a pyrethroid dissolved in a supercritical fluid such as carbon dioxide. The composition may also include a co-solvent such as methanol. The method includes impregnating wood with the composition and reducing the temperature and pressure below critical levels to precipitate the insecticide within the wood.
