    Abstract: A system and method for bypassing a rupture in a pipeline with a magnet and a bypass assembly. The magnet is placed outside the pipeline proximal the rupture. The bypass assembly is positioned inside the pipeline. The bypass assembly has a hollow cylinder, an expansion tube disposed about and slidable relative to the hollow cylinder, expansion ring sub-assemblies which expand from the expansion tube from a stored position to an extended position responsive to the expansion tube sliding, and a ferromagnetic tail extending from the hollow cylinder. The ferromagnetic tail articulates to contact an inner surface of the pipeline responsive to the magnetic field of the magnet. The ferromagnetic tail contacting the inner surface of the pipeline directs a fluid flow to the expansion tube, moving the expansion tube from the first position to the second position and shifting the expansion ring sub-assemblies to the extended position.

The coating device comprises a body defining an internal chamber, a flowable coating material stored in the internal chamber, a cavity defined in the body, a coating delivery member supported in the cavity, the coating delivery member movable between a first position and a second position, and a channel defined in the body. The channel extends between the cavity and the internal chamber, wherein the coating material flows out of the internal chamber through the channel, wherein the coating delivery member prevents the coating material from flowing out of the channel when the coating delivery member is in the first position, and wherein the coating delivery member facilitates the coating material to flow out of the channel when the coating delivery member is in the second position.

The telescoping mechanism has a retracted configuration in which the end telescoping member is nested inside of the inlet telescoping member, and the telescoping mechanism has an extended configuration in which the inlet telescoping member and the end telescoping member are arranged end to end to define a flow path that narrows from the first proximal diameter of the inlet telescoping member to the second proximal diameter of the end telescoping member.

The body further includes one or more expandable seals configured to seal against an inner surface of a pipeline. The pipeline valve includes a tail section coupled to the body and including at least one ferromagnetic finger that extends from the tail section. The at least one ferromagnetic finger is configured to magnetically couple to the inner surface of the pipeline in response to a magnetic field generated by at least one magnet positioned on or adjacent an external surface of the pipeline to anchor the tail section to the pipeline. The pipeline valve includes a valve section coupled to the body section and the tail section. The valve section is configured to adjust a flow of the pipeline fluid through the bore.

The system includes a metallic object positioned within the internal volume of the hollow structure. The system also includes at least two magnets slidably coupled to the exterior surface of the side wall, where the magnets guide movement of the at least one metallic object within the hollow structure. The magnets operate to impact the metallic object against the solid deposits to loosen the solid deposits from the interior surface of the side wall.
