  • Publication number: 20230015596
Abstract: According to an example, a method to wind media in an output roller downstream a media advance engine comprises advancing a medium for a determined medium length, collecting a first portion of the determined medium length at a first speed by rotating the output roller in a winding direction, and collecting a second portion of the determined medium length by rotating the output roller in a winding direction at a second speed, wherein the first speed is greater than the second speed.

  • Patent number: 10273106
Abstract: In one example in accordance with the present disclosure a device to detect media being wound around a wheel is described. The device includes a reel that collects the media and a movable arm pivotally coupled to the reel to provide tension to the media being wound around the reel. The device also includes a controller that detects media is being wound around the reel by 1) determining an angular position of the movable arm and 2) calculating, based on the angular position of the movable arm, when an output of a motor that rotates the reel is non-zero.

  • Publication number: 20180239583
Abstract: Example techniques for the voice control of a printer unit are disclosed. A method includes receiving a vocal communication. The vocal communication is parsed into a text string. The text string is matched to a word having a predefined meaning. The word is converted into a printer command and the printer command is sent to the printer unit.

  • Patent number: 8256865
Abstract: An indication is received of a vacuum source level measured by a vacuum sensor in a printing device. The vacuum level is associated with a pulse-width modulation (PWM) level for a PWM controller. The measured vacuum level is compared to an expected vacuum level. The PWM level of the PWM controller is adjusted in view of the comparison to achieve a virtual PWM level.

  • Publication number: 20120076563
Abstract: A media transport method includes transporting media along a media transport path by a plurality of rollers, for each of the rollers, determining a respective estimated length of advancement of the media based on at least an amount of rotation of the respective roller, and comparing the respective estimated length of advancement of the media determined for each of the rollers with each other.
