Abstract: Systems, methods, tangible non-transitory computer-readable media, and devices for operating an autonomous vehicle are provided. For example, a method can include determining a velocity, a trajectory, and a path for an autonomous vehicle. The path can be based on path data including a current location of the autonomous vehicle and subsequent destination locations. Navigational inputs can be received from a user, via a decoupled steering component associated with the velocity, trajectory, or the path of the autonomous vehicle, to suggest a modification of the autonomous vehicle's path. In response to the navigational inputs satisfying path modification criteria, vehicle systems can be activated to modify the path of the autonomous vehicle. The path modification criteria can be based on the velocity, the trajectory, or the path of the autonomous vehicle. Modifying the path of the autonomous vehicle can include modifying the one or more destination locations.
