  • Patent number: 10489011
Abstract: In one embodiment, an information handling system may include a processor, a display that may provide a user interface allowing a user to select one or more system utilities to be accessed, memory that may include a plurality of memory partitions storing a plurality of system utilities, and a management controller. During a configuration of the information handling system, the management controller may receive a request from the user via the user interface to access one or more selected system utilities; identify one or more memory partitions storing the one or more selected system utilities; and cause the display to display one or more user-selectable icons corresponding to the one or more identified memory partitions to provide the user access to the one or more identified memory partitions.

  • Patent number: 9183395
Abstract: Firmware updates at an information handling system flash memory device, such as provisioning information stored on a USB device, are securely performed by using a buffer memory and a secured code. An application running on a CPU generates a firmware update and a security code, such as a ciphered hash code based on the firmware update, stores the firmware update and security code in a buffer, and informs a management processor of the update. The management processor analyzes the firmware update to authorize copying of the update from the buffer to the flash memory device. For instance, the management processor creates the security code from the firmware update and compares the created code with the security code stored in the buffer to validate the firmware update.

  • Patent number: 8086834
Abstract: An information handling system includes a processor, a memory device coupled to the processor, and a dedicated system service repository (DSSR) coupled to the processor. The DSSR is configured to store a base image that includes a plurality of partitions and a first system configuration image, wherein the first system configuration image is stored in a first partition of the plurality of partitions, wherein the first system configuration image is configured to provide in-band and/or out-of-band managed access to the DSSR when executed; and by accessing the first system configuration image, the DSSR is populated with a second system configuration image, wherein the second system configuration image is stored in a second partition of the plurality of partitions.
