  • Patent number: 10542387
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to reducing connection time in direct wireless interaction. Devices may interact via direct (e.g., device-to-device or “D2D”) wireless communication. As part of connection setup operations, a device may receive an invitation to join an existing wireless group. For example, an invitation message may be received by the device on at least one known beaconing channel. The invitation message received by the device may at least identify an operating channel on which connection establishment operations will commence. Following completion of the connection setup operations, the device may initiate scanning on the operating channel identified by the invitation message to expedite the start of connection establishment operations. After connection establishment operations are complete, the device may be able to interact with at least one other device via direct wireless interaction.

  • Patent number: 10390070
Abstract: A method for adaptive video transmission based on channel capacity. As part of the method, a first wireless display capacity in a proximity of a wireless display source device is determined. The first wireless display capacity is based on information that is received from a wireless channel scan associated with a formation of a (P2P) peer-to-peer group that includes the wireless display source device and a wireless display. Further, the video bit rate of one or more devices with wireless display connections in the proximity is determined, the video bit rate of the one or more devices with wireless display connections in the proximity is compared to the wireless capacity, and, based on the comparing, a video bit rate of the wireless display source device is set. A second wireless display capacity in the proximity of the wireless display source device is determined based on a wireless channel scan of a wireless channel to determine wireless display connections in the proximity.

  • Publication number: 20190044737
Abstract: System and techniques for secure wireless association are described herein. A station (STA) may transmit a probe request for the wireless network that includes identification of a certificate. An access point (AP) receiving the probe request may obtain the identified certificate and use the certificate to encrypt a key. The encrypted key may then be included in a beacon by the AP. The STA may then obtain the encrypted key from the beacon, decrypt the key with the certificate, and then use the key to associate to the wireless network via the AP.

  • Patent number: 10165619
Abstract: A wireless device may disconnect a wireless connection to a remote device. The wireless device may include a memory device and one or more processors coupled to the memory device. The processors may generate a first wireless fingerprint of the wireless device, wherein the first wireless fingerprint comprises a first basic service set identification (BSSID) of a first access point to which the wireless device is connected. The processors may further determine if the BSSID of the wireless device is changed and if the BSSID is changed perform an active scan of a plurality of wireless channels. The processors may further generate a second wireless fingerprint for the wireless device based on the active scan and disconnect a wireless connection of the wireless device if the first wireless fingerprint is at least partially different from the second wireless fingerprint.

  • Publication number: 20140380046
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a collaborative streaming system for protected media. A presentation device may interact with a group of trusted devices over a network to stream multimedia content. The presentation device may obtain a presentation content encryption key for presenting the content. Each trusted device in a group of trusted devices may obtain a download content encryption key allowing for download without presentation. A leader may be selected for managing the operation of the trusted devices. The leader may determine trusted device condition and assign one or more of the trusted devices to download portions of the content based on the condition. The leader may then consolidate the portions of the content and provide them to the presentation device. If the presentation device is the leader, the presentation device may perform similar operations and collect the portions of the content directly from the group of trusted devices.
