  • Patent number: 12092636
Abstract: A sensor for liquid biopsy, its method of making, and its method of non-invasive use. The sensor includes a substrate with a surface functionalized with biotinylated antibodies. The biotinylated antibodies are arranged to engage with surface proteins on exosomes associated with malignant cancer cells such as glioma cells.

Date of Patent: September 17, 2024
Assignee: City University of Hong Kong
Inventors: Youngjin Lee, Abhimanyu Thakur, Chi-Man Lawrence Wu, Chen Xu, Siu-Pang Ng
  • Publication number: 20230221324
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of detecting the presence or absence of exosomes, the method comprising detecting an exosomal biomarker in a sample obtained from a subject. Also disclosed herein is a system and a biosensor, each for detecting an exosomal biomarker as disclosed herein.

  • Publication number: 20220381782
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of diagnosing a malignant glioblastoma. The method can comprise of isolating glioma-derived exosomes from a bodily fluid of the subject, and characterizing the amount of Cluster of Differentiation (CD44) and Cluster of Differentiation 133 (CD133) present in the glioma-derived exosomes. This method allows for the diagnosis of a malignant glioblastoma using CD44 and CD133 levels in EGFRviii specific immunocaptured exosomes from bodily fluids, which has previously not been recognized as providing an indication of a glioblastoma.

  • Publication number: 20210373022
Abstract: A method of detecting one or more exosomal protein in a sample includes the steps of: a) introducing the sample on at least a part of a first sensor having a nanostructure thereon, subjecting the first sensor to an optical radiation in a certain spectral range to produce a localized surface plasmon resonance and measuring an induced phase response; and b) introducing the sample on a second sensor having a nanostructure thereon, and obtaining an image via atomic force microscopy analysis with a probe functionalized with an antibody targeting the exosomal protein. A kit for detecting at least one exosomal protein in a sample includes a first sensor having a nanostructure thereon; a second sensor having a nanostructure thereon, and a probe functionalized with an antibody targeting the exosomal protein.

  • Patent number: 10432741
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided, which provide for validation of message delivery utilizing push functionality. Such systems and methods expedite delivery of data while utilizing reliable periodic pull to validate message delivery by querying a group or groups of recipients. The invention may then receive responses from execution of periodic pull functionality and initiate known tasks or preconfigured actions in accordance with any particular response received or not received.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 24, 2016
Date of Patent: October 1, 2019
Assignee: Open Access Technology International, Inc.
Inventors: Sasan Mokhtari, Ilya William Slutsker, Abhimanyu Thakur, Carlos Gonzalez-Perez
