  • Patent number: 10801316
Abstract: A system is provided that can include an acoustic emission sensor. The acoustic emission sensor can be positionable for detecting an acoustic emission from a cement sheath in a wellbore. The acoustic emission sensor can be operable to transmit a sensor signal associated with the acoustic emission. The system can also include a processing device in communication with the acoustic emission sensor. The system can further include a memory device in which instructions executable by the processing device are stored for causing the processing device to: receive the sensor signal; determine a characteristic associated with the sensor signal; and determine a structural integrity of the cement sheath based on the characteristic associated with the sensor signal.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 22, 2014
Date of Patent: October 13, 2020
    Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.
Inventors: Sameer Bardapurkar, Abhinandan Chiney, Abhimanyu Deshpande
  • Patent number: 10197481
Abstract: An optical measurement system comprising a vessel for non-invasively testing a sample material composition in-situ and in real time. The test chamber is configured to hold a sample material composition for a wellbore. The optical measurement system is configured to provide in-situ monitoring of the sample material composition in real time and at high temperature and high pressure. Dimensional and geometrical changes occurring within the sample material composition are monitored using the optical measurement system. The system further performs goniometry on a sample.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 2, 2015
Date of Patent: February 5, 2019
    Assignee: HALLIBURTON ENERGY SERVICES, INC.
Inventors: Ravinder Gahlawat, Abhinandan Chiney, Sameer Bardapurkar, Siva Rama Krishna Jandhyala
  • Patent number: 9937503
Abstract: According to an implementation of the present subject matter, a method for producing stable nanofluids is described. The method includes mixing of a base fluid with a dispersant and a metal oxide powder to form a primary mixture. The base fluid is a heat transfer fluid and the metal oxide powder includes particles of size greater than 100 nm. The method further includes grinding the primary mixture to obtain a concentrated nanoparticle suspension where the dispersant is added to the primary mixture during the grinding after every pre-determined time period.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 8, 2011
Date of Patent: April 10, 2018
    Assignee: TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES LIMITED
Inventors: Beena Rai, Abhinandan Chiney, Vivek Ganvir, Pradip

  • Patent number: 9038450
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for testing a cemented bonding with the formation under wellbore pressure conditions. The apparatus comprises a pressure chamber containing a core of formation material. The cement material to be tested is allowed to set or bond to one side of the core while formation fluids under wellbore pressure conditions are present on the other side. Leakage of formation fluids is measured to evaluate the quality of the interface between the cement and formation materials.
