  • Publication number: 20250085784
Abstract: Virtual assistant devices and related methods are described that allow users having special needs to communicate with the virtual assistant device. The virtual assistant devices are augmented with additional intelligent sensors, including, but not limited to, three-dimensional optical sensors that are used to capture optical signals of user's non-verbal communication (e.g., sign language, lip movements, gestures or the like). Additionally, the virtual assistant device includes an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based engine that includes one or more Machine Learning (ML) models trained on user-specific data and used to determine the non-verbal communication of the user (i.e., sign language, lip movements or other gestures) based on inputs derived from the sensors. Moreover, the virtual assistant devices may be configured to generate and display visual information, such as three-dimensional floating avatars of the user and/or the virtual assistant.

  • Publication number: 20230011867
Abstract: A system for powering 100% of an oil and gas workover rig's operations with a battery energy storage system (“BESS”). The system consists of three major interconnected components: a BESS, a power conversion system (“PCS”), and a workover rig. The power system is specifically designed for a retrofitted electro-mechanical workover rig (with either an alternating current or direct current electric drive) which is compatible with the BESS. Unlike other emerging industrial applications, a battery cannot be mounted on the workover rig due to logistical and size constraints, thus requiring a novel modular and mobile system design.

  • Publication number: 20220410994
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for retrofitting mechanical workover rigs with electric motors to create a hybrid mechanical and electric drive. The process involves the replacement of the combustion engine with one or more electric motors to drive various components of the rig. The retrofit design allows for cleaner, more precise, and more efficient operations while eliminating the need for hydrocarbons as fuel and thus reducing associated greenhouse gas emissions. It also enables the installation of a computer control which, among other benefits, allows more precise control of the rig's operations than is possible with a mechanical transmission. The electric motors may be driven by a battery energy storage system.
