  • Publication number: 20160085500
Abstract: Embodiments are described herein that may include a computing device. The computing device may receive an indication of a particular media item that is currently playing on a media playback system. The computing system may query a social media service for one or more accounts of the social media service that are connected within a social network to a particular account of the social media service that is registered to the media playback system and have received respective indications of the particular media item from respective media playback systems within a particular period of time. The computing system may receive data indicating the queried one or more accounts of the social media service and cause one or more respective indications of the received one or more accounts of the social media service to be displayed on a graphical interface in association with an indication of the particular media item.

  • Patent number: 9282115
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for detecting cache-poisoning attacks in networks using SDPs may include maintaining a cache of service information that identifies services provided by client devices connected to a network using an SDP. The method may also include detecting a cache-poisoning attack by (1) receiving, from a client device connected to the network, an SDP message related to a service allegedly provided via the network, (2) identifying, within the SDP message, an attribute of the service allegedly provided via the network, and then (3) determining that the client device is attempting to corrupt the cache of service information by determining that the identified attribute of the service suggests that the service is illegitimate. Finally, the method may include performing a security action to mitigate the cache-poisoning attack in response to detecting the cache-poisoning attack. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20160021194
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method and network device for dynamic detection of inactive virtual private network clients. Specifically, a network device receives periodic messages from a first device at a first interval, and determines a timeout value for the first device based at least on the first interval, at which the periodic messages are received from the first device. Subsequent to determining the timeout value, the network device detects that a message has not been received from the first device for a period of time corresponding to the timeout value for the first device. The network device then terminates at least one connection with the first device responsive to determining that no message has been received from the first device for the period of time corresponding to the timeout value for the first device.

  • Publication number: 20160005438
Abstract: In an example implementation, a system groups a first playback device and a second playback device into first player group. The system associates the first player group with a first playback queue that includes items for playback by the first player group. The first and second playback devices are configured to play items from the first playback queue while in the first player group. The system associates a third playback device with a second playback queue that includes items for playback by the second playback device. Thereafter, the system groups the first, second and third playback devices to form a second player group such that each of the first, second, and third playback devices are configured to play items from the second playback queue. The system removes the first playback device from the second player group and automatically associates the first playback device with the first playback queue.

  • Publication number: 20160007079
Abstract: In an example implementation, a first playback device associates with a first playback queue that identifies items for playback by the first playback device. The first playback device receives an instruction to enter a playback group with a second playback device which is associated with a second playback queue that identifies one or more items for playback by the second playback device. The first playback device enters the playback group with the second playback device. The first playback device is configured to play items from the second playback queue in synchrony with the second playback device while in the playback group. The first playback device receives an instruction to leave the playback group and leaves the playback group. Leaving the playback group involves automatically associating the first playback device with a third playback queue that identifies items for playback by the first playback device.

  • Patent number: 9232277
Abstract: An example method includes receiving a first command by a device to group a first playback device with at least a second playback device for synchronous audio playback. In the example method, the group is associated with a first playback queue comprising a list of one or more items for playback by the group. The example method includes, for as long as the playback device is in the group, receiving a second command by the device to remove the first playback device from the group, wherein the first playback device is ungrouped and automatically associated with a second playback queue. In the example method, the second playback queue comprises a list of one or more items for playback by the playback device.

  • Patent number: 9167599
Abstract: Methods of communicating location information from a subscriber to a repeater are described. The subscriber switches from a working channel to a data revert channel, transmits a request for a periodic or one-time window to transmit an update, and determines from grant information in the response announcement the allocated window and frame before switching back to the working channel. Before the allocated time, the subscriber switches to the data revert channel, confirms whether it remains scheduled to transmit the update from a repeater announcement, and if so transmits the location update in either the current or reserved window. The announcements from the repeater contain the identity of the next window and frame and the subscriber reserved to use the window in addition to grant information. The subscribers may or may not be time-aligned and the data and data revert channels may or may not be synchronized.

  • Publication number: 20150277851
Abstract: Embodiments described herein involve providing media item preferences according to a user account of a user providing the preference, rather than a user account providing the media item. When a user indicates a preference for a media item, the preference are associated with that particular user, rather than with another user whose account the media item may have been accessed and played through when the particular user indicated the preference. As a result, a media preference history associated with the account providing the media item will not be disrupted by other users indicating preferences for the media item. Further, users may build on their respective media preference histories even when listening to music provided by someone else.

  • Publication number: 20150271227
Abstract: An example implementation involves a playback device receiving a request to add continuous automated streaming audio content to a playback queue, the request indicating a playback start time, and the playback queue indicating a plurality of audio content. The implementation further involves the playback device adding the continuous automated streaming audio content to the playback queue. The example implementation also involves the playback device determining that a duration until the playback start time is less than a duration of the given audio content before playing a given audio content in the playback queue. The example implementation involves the playback device responsively, playing the continuous automated streaming audio content.

  • Publication number: 20150248268
Abstract: Method and systems are provided for displaying playback zone representations in a controller interface for a media playback system. A representation of a first playback zone in the media playback system may be displayed according to a collapsed format, and a representation of a second playback zone in the media playback system may be displayed in a position directly below the representation of the first playback zone. Upon determining that the first playback zone is associated with media content, an updated representation of the first playback zone may be displayed according to an expanded format that is larger than the collapsed format. The representation of the second playback zone may then be displayed in a position directly below the updated representation of the first playback zone.
