  • Publication number: 20180368068
Abstract: A source device includes various sensors, such as a GPS receiver. The source device provides operation context data to a server that indicates movement of the source device. The source device may also provide a movement context. The server also evaluates usage of data from the device by other applications or devices to determine a usage context. Based on the movement, operation, and usage contexts, the server selects a frequency at which data is collected for a sensor and a frequency at which the data is transmitted to the server. For example, where the device is not moving or is indoors, less location data is collected. Where no user is tracking the device, location data may be transmitted less frequently and may also be collected less frequently.

  • Patent number: 10156202
Abstract: A barrier ring for a cylinder assembly for an opposed-piston engine fits into a groove fashioned into a portion of the cylinder liner that is adjacent to the top dead center location of the end surfaces of the pistons, in a volume of the cylinder liner that defines the combustion chamber. The barrier ring and groove are part of a barrier assembly that prevents heat generated during combustion from reaching the outer wall of the cylinder assembly, reducing the need for conventional cooling systems and increasing the amount of heat retained in the combustion chamber. The barrier assembly allows for increased engine efficiency because of the combustion heat retained in the combustion chamber, as well as a reduction in the overall size of the engine because of the reduction in engine cooling needed.

  • Patent number: 10157087
Abstract: A clock generator circuit includes an internal reference clock generator, a sequential circuit, and a pulse generator circuit. The internal reference clock generator circuit receives a clock buffer signal, a reset signal, and provides a first clock signal. The sequential circuit receives the first clock signal, and provides an internal reference clock signal based on the first clock signal. The pulse generator circuit receives the internal reference clock signal, a slow ring oscillator clock signal, and the reset signal. The pulse generator circuit counts a number of internal reference clock signals cycles for each cycle of the slow ring oscillator clock signal, and generates a pulse signal in response to the number being equal to zero during a cycle of the slow ring oscillator clock signal. The pulse signal toggles the flip-flop clock circuit to recover from a deadlock.

  • Publication number: 20180354806
Abstract: Some embodiments include a method of producing metal diboride nanomaterials having thickness down to the atomic scale and lateral areas from 10 nm to over 1 ?m by preparing a mixture of a metal diboride and a suspending solution. The suspending solution can be an organic solvent or a solution containing water, and optionally can include a dispersion agent, such as a surfactant, a polymer, small molecule, or biopolymer. Further, the method includes exfoliating the metal diboride by exposing the mixture to ultrasonic energy, centrifuging the mixture forming supernatant that includes a dispersion of exfoliated metal diborides, and extracting the dispersion from the supernatant. Some embodiments include extracting the supernatant and casting the solution by diluting the dispersion with a second suspending solution that includes dissolved polymer. This can result in a composite film includes a dispersion of the exfoliated metal diborides and provides improved mechanical properties.

  • Publication number: 20180357313
Abstract: A first connection state may be entered on a computing device. While the computing device is in the first connection state, actions taken on a playlist on the computing device may be applied to the playlist and not applied to a playback queue associated with a zone. An input may be received via the computing device, indicating a selection of the zone. In response to receiving the input, a second connection state may be entered. Entering the second connection state may comprise establishing a connected state between the computing device and the one or more playback devices. While the connected state is established, one or more actions taken on the playlist on the computing device may be applied to the playlist and transmitted, in a message to the zone over a network. The one or more actions may be one or more corresponding actions applied to the playback queue.
