Publication number: 20240333833Abstract: Automatic testing/analysis of local loops of telecommunications networks includes obtaining bits-per-tone data for a local loop of a telecommunications network and generating a bit value string from the bits-per-tone data. The bit value string is then analyzed to determine whether it includes a bit pattern indicative of an impairment of the local loop. Further approaches for automatically testing local loops of telecommunications networks include obtaining attenuation data for multiple tones carried by the local loop and determining whether the attenuation data falls below thresholds for providing a service using the local loop.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 7, 2024Publication date: October 3, 2024Applicant: Level 3 Communications, LLCInventors: Thomas C. Woldahl, Erik V. Helrich, Michael J. Durkin, Larry J. North, Abid Khan

Patent number: 12034290Abstract: A method for reducing arc flash energy on an electrical system to safe limits, the method including installing an over current relay on a secondary side (480 Volt) of a transformer on the electrical system; wherein the transformer having a primary side and the secondary side; pre-setting a time delay with instanteous settings of the over current relay to a predetermined value; and wherein the predetermined value is configured to be operable for coordinating at least one or more upstream relays and at least one or more downstream breakers. Since the fast overcurrent protection is permanently installed, it is always functional, do not require human interventions and eliminates exposure to human errors.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 2022Date of Patent: July 9, 2024Inventor: Md Abid Khan

Patent number: 8068716Abstract: A recording apparatus for recording audio-visual (A/V) contents directly from an A/V input source to a portable media player (PMP) is disclosed. The recorded A/V contents can be played back by the portable media player immediately upon stopping the recording. The recording apparatus does not involve the use of any intermediate computing or storage device other than the portable media player and the recording apparatus itself. The A/V contents for recording may come in the form of analog/digital signals or as digital data in compressed or uncompressed form from transmission and/or storage devices. Depending upon the nature of the input, the recording apparatus digitizes, encodes and/or transcodes the A/V contents and stores the processed A/V contents directly into the portable media player in playback ready format. The recording apparatus includes a one-button control interface for starting and stopping the recording of A/V contents to the portable media player.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 2006Date of Patent: November 29, 2011Assignee: Streaming Networks (PVT.) Publication number: 20090017327Abstract: A coated electrically conductive substrate has particular utility where there are multiple closely spaced leads and tin whiskers constitute a potential short circuit. Such substrates include leadframes, terminal pins and circuit traces such as on printed circuit boards and flexible circuits. This electrically conductive substrate has a plurality of leads separated by a distance capable of bridging by a tin whisker, a silver or silver-base alloy layer coating at least one surface of at least one of the plurality of leads, and a fine grain tin or tin-base alloy layer directly coating said silver layer. An alternative coated electrically conductive substrate has particular utility where debris from fretting wear may oxidize and increase electrical resistivity, such an in a connector assembly. This electrically conductive substrate has a barrier layer deposited on the substrate that is effective to inhibit diffusion of constituents the substrate into a plurality of subsequently deposited layers.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 24, 2008Publication date: January 15, 2009Inventors: Szuchain F. Patent number: 7471875Abstract: A method for displaying video data instantly in reverse order is disclosed. According to the method, a compressed audio and video (A/V) stream is received from a source. The compressed A/V stream is demultiplexed into an audio stream and a video stream. The video stream has a number of compressed video frames which include a number of key frames. Each key frame is followed by one or more associated frames. Each of the compressed video frames is tagged with a tag. The tag associated with each key frame and file position of each key frame is stored in a table. The compressed video frames are decoded to generate a number of decoded video frames while maintaining their corresponding tags. During normal play, the decoded video frames are stored in a forward queue, and the decoded video frames in the forward queue are then outputted in a FIFO (first-in-first-out) order to a reverse queue and a display device for display.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2005Date of Patent: December 30, 2008Assignee: Streaming Networks (Pvt.)
