  • Patent number: 11944790
Abstract: Injection device including a casing, a syringe carrier located within a proximal end of the casing and being movable along a longitudinal axis of the device between a stowed position and a needle insertion position, a drive assembly located within a distal end of the casing and being movable by an insertion driver in order to move the syringe carrier and a loaded syringe from a stowed position to a needle insertion position; a first formation fixed relative to the casing and a second formation fixed relative to an insertion tube of the drive assembly, the first and second formations defining a plurality of stop positions for the insertion tube relative to the casing, spaced along the direction of said longitudinal axis, to prevent significant rearward movement of the insertion tube along said axis when a plunger of a firing cartridge is released from a reaction assembly of the cartridge.

  • Patent number: 11944795
Abstract: An injection device is disclosed comprising a plunger for expressing medicament from a syringe and a delivery mechanism arranged in use to provide a forward biasing force to urge the plunger from a first rearward position to a second forward position to express a dose from the syringe. A latch arrangement is provided that releasably holds the plunger against the force of the delivery mechanism. The latch arrangement comprising at least two resilient segments which define opposing sections of an aperture within which a rearward end of the plunger is retained in the rearward position. A trigger is provided for releasing the plunger in use, the trigger being arranged to outwardly deflect at least one of the resilient segments such that the aperture is expanded to release the rearward end of the plunger. A method of manufacturing the injection device is also enclosed.

  • Patent number: 11648349
Abstract: An injection device including: a body including a syringe locator for receiving a syringe; and a firing mechanism including a rear cap, a plunger configured to be axially displaced in a forward direction relative to the rear cap and a driver system for driving the plunger forwards upon activation of the injection device, the firing mechanism configured to be directly or indirectly connected to the body such that an axial spacing of the rear cap and a barrel of the syringe is fixed during operation of the injection device, wherein, the firing mechanism and/or the body include first and second connection features allowing adjustment of a relative axial position of the firing mechanism and the syringe locator during assembly of the injection device.

  • Publication number: 20220313920
Abstract: An apparatus for a firing mechanism 102 for use in an injection device 100 and comprising: a rear cap 104 having an elongate member 110 extending axially forwards when installed within the injection device; a plunger 106 releasably connected, directly or indirectly, to the elongate member and, upon release of the connection to the elongate member, axially displaceable in a forward direction; and a plunger driver 112 to drive the plunger axially forwards upon release of the connection to the elongate member, wherein the plunger and the rear cap define an axial length of the assembly, which in turn determines a start position of a forward end of the plunger before release of the connection to the elongate member, and wherein, during construction of the assembly, the plunger is releasably connectable, directly or indirectly, to the elongate member at one of a plurality of positions for controlling the axial length of the assembly.
