Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to a method that includes executing, by a processor of a computer system, a particular operating system (OS) from a system memory coupled to the processor. A sideband processor of the computer system may receive, via a network, instructions for an updated version of the OS. While the processor executes the particular OS, the sideband processor may send, to a controller hub, a series of commands that cause the controller hub to store the received instructions into one or more regions of the system memory. The sideband processor may then cause the processor to switch, without rebooting, from executing the particular OS to executing the updated version of the OS.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to a method that includes monitoring, by a sideband processor, a plurality of operating conditions of a computer system using a first set of commands. This first set of commands are sent utilizing a particular command protocol over a particular communication bus. In addition, the sideband processor may be modified to support a second set of commands. The sideband processor may receive data for a particular device in the computer system. The sideband processor may modify a first command of the first set of commands to include a second command of the second set of commands. This second command may include an address associated with the particular device and at least a portion of the data. The sideband processor may then send the modified first command to a controller hub using the particular command protocol over the particular communication bus.

The processor may use a peripheral device coupled to the computer system, wherein the peripheral device utilizes a particular version of a driver. A sideband processor included in the computer system may receive, via a network, instructions for an updated version of the driver to replace the particular version of the driver. The sideband processor may cause the processor to pause use of the peripheral device. While the processor executes the one or more processes, the sideband processor may send a series of commands to install the instructions for the updated version of the driver. The sideband processor may also notify the processor that the peripheral device is available for use.

Abstract: The plaque has an indicia carrying surface. The container includes a box-like enclosure with an openable end and front surface having an opening. The plaque is received through the end of the enclosure such that the indicia carrying surface of the plaque aligns with the opening. A cover is hingeably mounted on the surface of the enclosure. The cover has window. A card, with indicia corresponding to the indicia on the plaque surface, is removeably mounted on the interior surface of the cover so as to be visible through the window. The rear surface of the plaque has a pocket to retain the card after the plaque and card are removed from the enclosure. A stand is provided to maintain the plaque in an upright position.
