  • Patent number: 11786474
Abstract: Devices and methods for substantially reducing the caloric efficiency of the digestive tract by capturing food being digested in the stomach 10 and/or anywhere else in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, absorbing or encapsulating the captured food into multiple capturing members and moving such multiple capturing members containing the ingestible encapsulated food down the GI tract, practically out of reach of the GI absorption organs, thus excluding the entrapped ingredients from being involved in the digestion and\or absorption process. The device is designed for oral delivery. The system can be comprised of liquid, food bars or a capsule system. The capsule system is comprised of an external capsule that dissolves in accordance with a temporal or ph dependent preset, which allows the food intake to be at least partially fluidic. The capsule system is further comprised of a mechanism designed to capture and isolate a portion of the food being digested.

  • Publication number: 20210030441
Abstract: A balloon implantation kit includes an inflatable biodegradable balloon configured to be implanted in a human body and a hydrogel composition. In some cases, the hydrogel composition is provided in a container configured to be introduced into the biodegradable balloon. For some applications, the biodegradable balloon includes a joint spacer for treatment of a joint of a human subject, such as a subacromial spacer, a glenohumeral spacer, or a spacer for another joint, such as a knee, hip, ankle, or hand (e.g., CMC1) joint. In these applications, the biodegradable balloon is configured to be inserted into a space of a joint of the human body, and is shaped to provide mechanical support to the joint until the biodegradable balloon resorbs into the human body. For other applications, the biodegradable balloon includes a soft tissue spacer.

  • Publication number: 20200215024
Abstract: Compositions for reducing alcohol consumption and/or treating alcohol hangover contain a first active agent containing at least one cannabinoid compound, a second active agent effective in reducing one or more symptoms of alcohol hangover, and a carrier. In some forms, the carrier is an anhydrous liposphere concentrate (ALC) containing a lipid system including lipid, optionally a water miscible solvent, and one or more surfactants and/or one or more phospholipids. In a preferred embodiment, the carrier spontaneously forms a nanodispersion of nanolipids or lipospheres, upon addition to an aqueous medium, which contain the cannabinoid compound and other compounds from the active agents. The compositions can be used to form oral dosage formulations for delivery of the cannabinoid compound.
