  • Patent number: 11106568
Abstract: A client information handling system may communicate with a remote information handling system to resolve an error encountered by an application of the client information handling system. The remote information handling system may receive an error report and one or more client system parameters from the client information handling system. The remote information handling system may then compare the received error report and received client system parameters with stored error data and associated system parameters detailing occurrence of the error on other information handling systems. The remote information handling system may determine an error resolution based, at least in part, on the comparison and may transmit the error resolution to the client information handling system.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: August 31, 2021
    Assignee: Dell Products L.P.

  • Patent number: 9021164
Abstract: A NFC mimic device retrieves peripheral information from a peripheral, stores the peripheral information and then mimics the peripheral information to an information handling system so that a NFC device of the information handling system receives the peripheral information as if provided directly from the peripheral. The NFC mimic device supports automated setup a wireless interface between an information handling system and a peripheral, such as a projector.

  • Patent number: 8880884
Abstract: An information handling system includes a memory and a processor to execute instructions stored in the memory, which causes the processor to at least: send identification information to a second information handling system in response to an identification request broadcast from the second information handling system via a short-range communication; receive first authentication information for a local application and a remote service from the second information handling system; receive a copy of the local application; authenticate a user for the copy of the local application and for the remote service prior to the user logging on to the information handling system; receive second authentication information from the user to access the information handling system; authenticate the user to the information handling system; and automatically initiate a secure session between the copy of the local application and the remote service when the user is authenticated to the information handling system.
