  • Patent number: 7402040
Abstract: The active portion of an osseous compression tool for use particularly in dentistry for the preparation of an osseous seat has a cross-section whose perimeter, e.g. of polygonal shape, is defined such that a rotational actuation of the tool around its axis, at least in one direction, preceded or accompanied by its actuation in an axial direction inside the seat, has the effect that the osseous matter is compressed and that the seat is imparted a perimeter of a predetermined shape. In a variant embodiment, a rotation of the tool in the opposite direction allows a scraping or cutting of osseous matter. A tool holder includes a percussion system and allows the translational and rotational actuation of the tool manually or automatically.

  • Patent number: 6739872
Abstract: A security device includes a stop member for a rotary drilling instrument used in particular in dental surgery. The stop member is capable of being positioned at a desired depth of drilling and of preventing the depth from being exceeded. The two elements drilling instrument and the stop member include coupling elements directly or indirectly linking them together and co-operating elements capable of transforming their movement, such that when the device is operating, the drilling instrument is retracted rearwards relative to the drilling direction and to the position of the stop member under the action of the elements when the front part of the stop member comes in contact with a neighboring surface. The co-operating elements preferably consist of a screw-nut system, the direction of the thread(s) of the system and the rotating direction of the drill being opposite. A device comprising a gauge containing a piston enables to pre-calibrate and store the desired drilling depth.

  • Patent number: 6346113
Abstract: A multi-purpose and multi-use cleaning or treating device, in particular for personal hygiene includes at least a cleaning or treating head (20, 13). This head includes a substantially flat cleaning element (20) made of sponge plastic material capable of adopting any desired shape by the effect of forces applied thereon and to resume at least partially its original shape, preferably plane, when these forces are absent, and a support (13) whose shape the element (20) can match when it is folded down and arranged thereon for covering it at least partially. Retainer (30) co-operates with the element (20) and the handle (10) to ensure proper hold of the element on the support. The support (13) includes gripping means directly mounted, such as grooves, or intrinsic, by the very material of which the support is made, for example a resin or an elastomer. The supports can be of different shapes.
