  • Publication number: 20120175890
Abstract: A control is described for a starter device of an internal combustion engine in a vehicle having a starter motor, a first current path and at least one additional second current path, which is connected in parallel to the first current path, for energizing the starter motor, the first current path having an switching device, in particular a starter relay. In order to improve an energization of the starter motor, the control is in operative contact with a testing device for checking a switching state of the switching device and provided with an adapter for adapting the energization of the switching device.

  • Publication number: 20120158274
Abstract: A control device for an electrical high-current consumer is provided, e.g., a starter controller for a starter motor of an internal combustion engine in a motor vehicle, in a circuit having an internal ohmic resistor and further ohmic resistors, e.g., line resistors. The control device includes a microcomputer having a memory. To ensure a control device for standardized, defined control of the high-current consumer on different vehicle platforms, the control device includes an adapter having the microcomputer for adapting to the individual overall ohmic resistance of the circuit.

  • Patent number: 6526945
Abstract: A control circuit for controlling solenoid valves for fuel metering in an internal combustion engine (banks I and II) includes a recharge circuit having a throttle coil in series with a diode and with a storage capacitor, as well as an FET power transistor connected in parallel with the series circuit of the diode and the storage capacitor. The solenoid valves of the individual banks are switched off during the rapid extinguishing with a voltage produced by the recharge circuit. To minimize the influence of the supply voltage, which comprises a wide range, the HS-FET is switched off during the rapid extinguishing phases.

  • Patent number: 6205031
Abstract: An electronic control unit having a housing, a substrate, particularly a hybrid, arranged in the housing and having an electronic control circuit. The electronic control unit also includes at least one device plug secured to the housing having contact elements that are electrically conductively connected to the control circuit of the substrate. A second substrate is arranged in the housing, spatially separated from the first substrate. At least one power component disposed in the housing and, electrically connected to the control circuit on the first substrate. One connecting printed circuit trace disposed in housing and conductively connected to the power component. The connecting printed circuit trace are conductively connected to a contact element, conducting power currents, of the device plug. Using the arrangement, in the event of a large number of contact elements in a device plug, the electrical connecting of the contact elements to the substrate can be simplified.

  • Patent number: 6068491
Abstract: A connector arrangement of a control system with a controller in a motor vehicle is designed so that it can be manufactured advantageously and is reliable in operation. To do so, the connector arrangement and the respective controller are designed so that several separate connector sockets with externally accessible contact elements are arranged on the controller, which is mounted on the vehicle's internal combustion engine as a surface-mounted controller, some of the contact elements being designed as high-current contact elements which are connected directly to one another through busbars running inside the controller. The respective mating connectors can be connected to the connector sockets, the mating connectors being electrically connected to components of the vehicle over cable harnesses or cable segments, where a first mating connector connected to cable segments is composed of partial mating connectors which can be handled independently of one another.

  • Patent number: 5973410
Abstract: The safety device, especially in an electronic motor vehicle control system, protects external circuit branches supplied with current from an engine/motor vehicle control unit so that a single short circuit results in failure of only that circuit branch in which the short circuit is located, so that an emergency operation of the electronic motor vehicle control system is possible. The respective reference grounds of the external circuit branches are connected to a common ground conductor (11) via an interface (3) including respective reference ground connectors (d, k, m). Each reference ground connector includes a safety device in the form of thin wire plug bonds, whose maximum current load sets the maximum current load of the respective external circuit branches. Then, if there is a short circuit to the reference ground of the concerned external circuit branch to a main supply voltage, the remaining circuit branches remain unaffected and operational.

  • Patent number: 5075627
Abstract: The voltage developed by a primary winding of an ignition coil is supplied to a voltage divider for furnishing an analog signal of reduced amplitude for evaluation on an analog basis, which reduced amplitude analog signal is averaged by a capacitor connected between the voltage divider tap and ground. The capacitor eliminates the undesired effect of voltage spikes, but is not large enough to interfere with the measurement of voltages exceeding the ignition-initiating primary winding voltage value. The same reduced primary winding voltage is supplied through an input resistor to one input of a differential amplifier connected to operate as a switch having hysteresis and having a reference voltage applied to it such that the output will be the provision of a steady voltage having a duration corresponding to the spark discharge duration, for subsequent digital evaluation.
