Abstract: The invention relates to a cutting element for a hollow drill comprising a cutting area and an essentially cylindrical area. The essentially cylindrical area has recesses, which are arranged on the inside at regular intervals and open toward the cutting area. In one embodiment of the invention, the recesses extend in an axial direction while being arranged in an interspaced manner preferably in the peripheral direction. The recesses arranged at regular intervals in the peripheral direction produce a geometric shape that is generally described as a polygon. The invention also relates to a cutter support and to a hollow drill. The cutting element is connected to the cutter support via a clamping connection preferably in a manner that enables the cutting element to be detached.
