Patent number: 7539469Abstract: A receiver may receive and process broadcasting signals in digital and analog forms. The receiver may include an amplifying input stage, a digital signal processing stage and an analog signal processing stage. The input stage may receive a broadcast signal. The digital signal processing stage may process a received broadcast signal and output a first quality information signal. The analog signal processing stage may process a received analog broadcast signal and outputs a second quality information signal. An evaluation unit may evaluate at least one of the first and second quality information signals and output a control signal to the amplifying input stage.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2005Date of Patent: May 26, 2009Assignee: Harman Becker Automotive Systems GmbHInventors: Michael Zahm, Achim Ratzel, Stefan Köhler

Patent number: 7084808Abstract: The invention relates to an antenna system (1) comprising several antennae (2), which can be connected to at least two receivers (4, 4?) via a combination unit. According to the invention, a signal processing unit (5) for evaluating the output signals of the receivers (4, 4?) and a control unit (10) are provided, by means of which at least one of the antennae can be switched to transmit mode in order to conduct a self-test. These antennae (2) transmit test signals with a test frequency that is pre-set by a first receiver (4). Said test signals are fed into at least one other antenna (2) that, via the combination device (3), is connected to the second receiver (4?) whose frequency is tuned to the test frequency. In order to conduct the self-test, the receiving levels of the second receiver (4?) are recorded as actual values and compared with predetermined set values. This results in the realization of an antenna system in which a function check is conducted with the least possible amount of complexity.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2001Date of Patent: August 1, 2006Assignee: Hirschmann Electronics GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Achim Ratzel, Dirk Wendt, Peter Schaich

Patent number: 6992730Abstract: Process for mobile reception of television signals in which an output signal (SA) is derived from n different (S1 . . . S5) and is supplied to the reproduction part of the receiver, the n input signals (S1 . . . S5) being weighted, the output signal (SA) being formed by summing of the weighted input signals, and the quality of each of the n input signals (S1 . . . S5) being evaluated using at least one given criterion for determining the adaptively determined weighting factors, characterized in that the n input signals (S1 . . . S5) are time-synchronized before their evaluation, summing and weighting, and the horizontal and/or vertical video synchronization pulses contained in the input signals (S1 . . . S5) are used for control of time synchronization.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2000Date of Patent: January 31, 2006Assignee: Hirschmann Electronics GmbH & Co.
