  • Publication number: 20250212048
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are described herein for assistance to radio area networks (RAN's) for extended Reality (XR) applications. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may be configured to receive a configuration message from a network node. The configuration message may indicate a connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) active time duration and may indicate that the CDRX active time duration can be extended, determine uplink extended reality media (XRM) data to be sent to the network node. The WTRU may determine a length of time for extending the CDRX active time duration based on a property of the uplink XRM data. The WTRU may send assistance information to the network node. The assistance information may indicate a request to extend the CDRX active time duration by the length of time.

  • Publication number: 20250106658
Abstract: A WTRU may send a registration message to a first network node. The registration message may indicate a capability to perform a network performance prediction and may comprise information indicating AI operation types. The first network node which may determine whether the WTRU is permitted to request network performance prediction information. If the WTRU is permitted, the WTRU may send a packet data unit (PDU) session message that indicates a request to subscribe to network analytics associated with the AI operation types. A second network node may receive the PDU session message and may send a subscription message to a third network node. The subscription message may comprise, for example, the AI operation types. The second network node may receive a notification message that indicates information associated with the network analytics. The second network node may send to the WTRU a message indicating the information associated with the network analytics.

  • Publication number: 20240221494
Abstract: A sensing operation management function (SOMF) with a processor may be configured to receive a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU)-initiated sensing request from a network node. The WTRU-initiated sensing request may include one or more of a requested sensing area, a requested service area, a WTRU location, information associated with a serving SOMF, or a periodic service request. The SOMF may be configured to select one or more WTRUs to perform a sensing operation based on the WTRU-initiated sensing request. The SOMF may be configured to send one or more sensing requests to the one or more selected WTRUs. The one or more sensing requests may include one or more of a periodicity for performing the sensing operation, a periodicity for sending sensing responses, or a requested sensing mechanism. The SOMF may be configured to receive one or more sensing responses from the one or more WTRUs. The one or more sensing responses may include sensing data.

  • Publication number: 20240196265
Abstract: A radio access network (RAN) node and methods to transmit downlink packet data units (PDUs) associated with a quality of service (QOS) flow of a PDU session with differing priority levels on a per-PDU basis are disclosed. A base station may receive, from a session management function (SMF), a packet data unit (PDU) set importance rule associated with a quality of service (QOS) profile for a PDU session. The base station receives, from a user plane function (UPF), a PDU for downlink transmission, the PDU received in a general packet radio service tunneling protocol (GTP-U) message having a header, and determines a priority level of the PDU based on information in the GTP-U message header and the PDU set importance rule. The base station may schedule the PDU for downlink transmission based on the determined priority level. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20240155417
Abstract: A Sensing Operation Management Function (SOMF) may comprise a processor and memory, and may be configured to receive a request message. The request message may comprise a requested sensing mechanism and a quality of service (QoS) requirement. The processor and memory of the SOMF may be configured to determine coordination information based on the requested sensing mechanism and the QoS requirement. The coordination information may be associated with one or more base stations and/or one or more wireless transmit receive units (WTRUs) to be used for performing a sensing operation. The processor and memory of the SOMF may be configured to send a sensing request message to the one or more base stations and/or the one or more WTRU. The sensing request message may comprise a sensing area for the WTRU or base station information when the sensing request message is sent to the one or more WTRUs.

  • Publication number: 20240155722
Abstract: A first policy control function (PCF) in a first network node may receive an indication from a session management function (SMF) that a protocol data unit (PDU) session is an alternative PDU session, and an indication of whether the PDU session is in a drop state. The first PCF may send a message with an indication to a second PCF in a second network node to indicate that the network node is serving a PDU session that is an alternative PDU session. In an example, the message with an indication to the second PCF may also identify the PDU session. The first PCF may receive a message from the second PCF with an indication that a second PDU session has experienced a fault or degraded performance. Further, the first PCF may send a message to the SMF to change the PDU session to a no-drop state.

  • Publication number: 20240114465
Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive a power reporting policy from a network node. The power reporting policy may include one or more triggers associated with sending a power status report. The WTRU may determine that a trigger of the one or more triggers associated with sending the power status report has been satisfied. The WTRU may send the power status report to the network node in accordance with the power reporting policy. The power status report may include power status information associated with the WTRU and/or an indication that indicates the determined trigger to send the power status report.
