Patent number: 12280615Abstract: Methods and apparatus for attaching a center cap a wheel of a motor vehicle. A specialized lug nut may replace existing lug nuts to provide a threaded receiving area for a screw. The screw may be used to secure a cap in place. Some embodiments include an adapter to match a lug bolt pattern to a cap diameter size. In preferred embodiments, a lug nut is provided of specific designs, size and shape to be installable to act as a mechanism to secure a wheel to a vehicle and also act as a holder for the screw to retain the cap. The center cap may then slide onto the lug nuts (or extension that attach to the lug nuts) and then stay on by tightening a screw through the top of one or more lug nuts on each wheel.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 2021Date of Patent: April 22, 2025Inventors: Adam Stevens, Keith Ramthun

Publication number: 20250108451Abstract: A scalable method for the manufacture of iron and steel. The method includes hydrogen plasma arc additive manufacturing of near net shape steel and iron parts. More specifically, the method includes the hydrogen plasma reduction of iron ore concentrates using a plasma arc welding (PAW) torch and hydrogen and argon shielding gases. The plasma arc generated by the PAW torch and the hydrogen and argon shielding gases strip electrons from the feedstock, for example a ribbon comprising fine iron ore concentrates, as part of an additive build, thereby avoiding the need for post-processing operations such as casting, rolling, and forging operations.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2024Publication date: April 3, 2025Inventors: Rangasayee Kannan, Peeyush Nandwana, Andrzej Nycz, Adam Stevens, Sudarsanam Suresh Babu

Patent number: 11495240Abstract: A device-management system performs processing, such as audio processing, in an instance of a virtual machine corresponding to a functionally limited (local) device. To register the local device, the device-management system receives a registration request that includes device information, encryption data, and an indication of an associated user account. The device-management system then sends this registration data to a service-provider system, which returns a shared encryption key. The device-management system and the local device may use this shared encryption key to securely communicate. The device-management system may de-allocate the instance upon detecting a period of inactivity of the local device and may re-allocate the instance when new activity is detected. The device-management system may further determine when and if audio data to be sent to the local device is encoded using a codec not implemented by the local device.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2019Date of Patent: November 8, 2022Inventors: Sebastian Pierce-Durance, Kenneth Edward Cecka, Adam Stevens, Sanjay Devireddy, Po-Chen Paul Yang, Naveen Kumar Devaraj, Federico Dan Rozenberg, Pete Baldridge, Rajiv Jain, Pranov Rai, Todd Greenwalt, Yusuf Goren

Patent number: 10854186Abstract: A device-management system performs audio processing, such as acoustic echo cancellation or beamforming, in a computing-resource allocation corresponding to a functionally limited device. The device-management system may be a locally-connected network device that is in communication with one or more user devices; the device-management system may also or instead be a remote device that communicates with the user devices using the locally-connected network device. The device-management system may receive audio data from one or more microphones of one or more user devices. To perform acoustic echo cancellation, the device-management system may receive and process time data corresponding to a time of output of audio by the user device.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 2019Date of Patent: December 1, 2020Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Sanjay Devireddy, Kenneth Edward Cecka, Adam Stevens, Sebastian Pierce-Durance, Naveen Kumar Devaraj, Po-Chen Paul Yang, Federico Dan Rozenberg, Pete Baldridge, Pranov Rai, Todd Greenwalt, Yusuf Goren, Rajiv Jain

Patent number: 10410126Abstract: A process for recommending choices to a user uses a first model representing the user's subconscious and a second model representing the user's consciousness. The process comprises receiving data and performing, using the second model, a simulation by modeling the user and a third party to derive a simulation result that determines how the user would react to a situation based at least in part on the received data. Using the first model and the simulation, a first set of recommendation choices based at least in part on the received data is derived, and a set of recommendation choices for presentation based on the first set of recommendation choices is determined and presented to the user. As the user is making a selection, the user is monitored for conscious decisions and subconscious reactions, which are used to update the first model and the second model.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2017Date of Patent: September 10, 2019Assignee: QUALE LLCInventors: Steven Keith Rogers, Adam Steven Rogers

Publication number: 20180025379Abstract: An online system determines a predicted performance of presenting a content item based on factors including a context in which the content item is to be presented. The context in which the content item is to be presented identifies other content presented in conjunction with the content item, content presented prior to presenting the content item, or actions performed prior to, after, or during presentation of the content item. Based on prior actions by users presented with content items in different contexts, the online system determines a quality score for each context. Using the quality score for the context in which the content item is to be presented and other factors, the online system determines the predicted performance of presenting the content item. The online system may modify determination of the predicted performance as the online system receives information describing results of presenting the content item.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 21, 2016Publication date: January 25, 2018Inventors: Philip Adam Hewinson, Adam Stevens, Ben Parsons, Anala Joelle Prabhu, Maya Cahier, Sebastian Michael Anthony Totte

Patent number: 9765102Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to ONO pincer ligands that can be in a trianionic, protonated or protonated equivalent form. The ONO pincer ligand can be combined with a metal comprising compound to form an ONO pincer ligand comprising transition metal complex. By choice of the ONO pincer ligand structure, the steric and electronic properties of the metal complexes therefrom can be controlled. The ONO pincer ligands comprise a central nitrogen atom that is disubstituted with a pair of three atom comprising bridges where the three atoms are a pair of sp2 hybridized carbons and an sp3 hybridized carbon.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2016Date of Patent: September 19, 2017Assignee: UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA RESEARCH FOUNDATION, INC.Inventors: Adam Steven Veige, Matthew O'Reilly

Patent number: 9547829Abstract: A method for recommending choices to a user comprises receiving data. A first set of recommendation choices based on the data is derived using a first model that models a user's subconscious reactions (i.e., intuition) to the data, and a second set of recommendation choices based on the data is derived using a second model that models the user's consciousness. The first and second sets of recommendation choices are blended using a blending function based on characteristics of a domain of the data to create a third set of recommendation choices that are arranged in an order, which is presented to the user. A conscious decision of the user and subconscious reactions of the user are monitored, and data representing the subconscious reactions of the user and data representing the conscious decisions of the user are appended to a first and second memory space, respectively.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 2014Date of Patent: January 17, 2017Assignee: QUALE LLCInventors: Steven Keith Rogers, Adam Steven Rogers
