  • Publication number: 20060093049
Abstract: A dual antenna transmitter includes a diversity encoding module that receives a data stream and provides a pair of encoded data streams selected to cause generation of overlapping symbols that provide substantially constant signal power to a receiver when the first and second antennas are unobstructed from the receiver. The diversity encoding module may compensate for the state retention of standard modulators thereby enabling the implementation of the Alamouti transmit diversity scheme. A wireless receiver capable of receiving data transmitted from the aforementioned transmitter includes a metric extraction module that repetitively extracts a metric from a transmitted signal at a selected rate to provide a first and a second metric stream, the first metric stream comprising data that is time offset from data in the second metric stream, the time offset corresponding to a differential time delay to the receiver for symbols emitted from the transmitter antennas.

  • Publication number: 20040159444
Abstract: A wet connect arrangement for communication beyond obstructions in a wellbore such as gravel packs and lateral junctions, among others. The arrangement employs communication line at first and second tubulars and annular or part annular communication pathways between the lines when the first and second tubulars are in operable position.

  • Patent number: 6692788
Abstract: Compositions for generating a cooked flavor in a foodstuff, comprising specified flavor precursors that react on heating to generate the flavor and maintain a reactive association after inclusion in the foodstuff. The compositions may include combination of a sulphur source, e.g. hydrogen sulphide, methane thiol, a sulfur-containing amino acid, thiamine, cystine, sodium sulphide, ammonium sulphide, ammonium polysulphide, onions, garlic, shallots, eggs, methionine, and mixtures thereof, and at least one reductone, e.g. a furanone, a ketone, a pyrone, an aldehyde, a carbonyl compound, isomaltol, maltol, pyruvaldehyde, hydroxyacetone, 3-deoxyglucosone, 5-hydroxy-5,6-dihydromaltol, 2,3-butanedione, 3-hydroxy-2-butanone, a process flavor, cooked vegetable concentrates, soy sauce, and mixtures thereof.
