Patent number: 10942992Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems, methods, computer program products, and the like, for collaboration conferencing with multiple participants over a communications network, and more specifically for a conferencing controller in the network configured to control certain aspects of establishing a collaboration conference. In one particular embodiment, the user of the network may access the control system application to provide one or more conferencing parameters or settings the user wishes to be present during a collaboration conference session. The parameters may then be established by the control system and associated with the conferencing session involving the user. In one embodiment, such information may be associated with the identification token. In yet a further embodiment, a user to the collaboration control system may subscribe to receive a notification when another user of the system accesses a portion of a collaboration of the system.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2014Date of Patent: March 9, 2021Assignee: Level 3 Communications, LLCInventors: Adam C. Uzelac, Gregory T. Ellison, Andrew J. Broadworth

Publication number: 20200359221Abstract: A robocall management system is provided that identifies, classifies, and routes one or more robocalls on ingress into a telecommunications network. In some instances, a robocall may be received at an ingress point of the network and analyzed by the robocall management system. Analysis of the received call may access one or more types of identification, such as an identification token, and classify the robocall as permissible or impermissible based on the identification data. Additionally, the robocall management system may monitor a rate of received robocalls from a known robocall customer and compare the rate of robocalls made to a CPS threshold value associated with the customer. One or more routing actions may be executed on a received robocall based on the classification, including routing the robocall to the destination, selecting a routing path via the receiving network, and/or blocking the robocall at the ingress device.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 5, 2020Publication date: November 12, 2020Applicant: Level 3 Communications, LLCInventor: Adam C. Uzelac

Patent number: 10819856Abstract: Methods for handling traffic between a first network including a virtual communication platform and a second network, such as a circuit-switched network, include inserting customer identifiers into data packets. For traffic sent to the second network, the packets with the identifiers are transmitted to a trunking service that uses the identifier to determine one or more applicable service attributes for handling the data contained within the packets. For data traffic received from the second network, the virtual communication platform uses the identifiers to determine a destination, such as an endpoint device, for the traffic within the first network.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2020Date of Patent: October 27, 2020Assignee: Level 3 Communications, LLCInventors: Dana A. Johnston, Claudia M. Combellas, Adam C. Uzelac, Michael F. Robles

Patent number: 10735553Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems, methods, computer program products, and the like, for providing services to customers or other users of a telecommunications network through implementation of one or more micro-services instantiated on the network. Through the micro-services, one or more of the processes or functions used to provide the services from the network may be separately located logically within the network, thereby divorcing such processes from dedicated service components of the network. The breaking apart of the processes to be instantiated within the network on a generic computing device of the network, otherwise known as “micro-services”, allows the telecommunications to adjust or scale the available services in response to operating conditions of the network.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2017Date of Patent: August 4, 2020Assignee: Level 3 Communications, LLCInventors: Dana A. Patent number: 10630635Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems, methods, computer program products, and the like, for providing a directory or database of IP endpoints associated with users of a telecommunications network. The IP endpoints directory may be accessed by users or other networks to determine or obtain destinations within the network or accessible through the network that are associated with users or participants of the network. Through the database, networks and users may determine one or more endpoints for communications intended for a particular user. The results from the IP endpoint database may be then utilized to route communications along one or more routes through the network based on the information stored in the database.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2018Date of Patent: April 21, 2020Assignee: Level 3 Communications, LLCInventor: Adam C. Publication number: 20190349481Abstract: A call path through one or more communications networks can be traced by retrieving voice equipment information based on a call data record (“CDR”). A path through the networks and across multiple routers may be identified based on the CDR and voice equipment information. Router operation information may be retrieved from each of the multiple routers. A filterable interface can be generated based on the CDR, voice equipment information, and router operation information through which configurations to the networks may be performed.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 10, 2019Publication date: November 14, 2019Applicant: Level 3 Communications, LLCInventors: Adam C.
