Abstract: Techniques are described that provide a centralized system to coordinate disparate teams involved in handling various tasks, including, for example, the tasks relating to settling the affairs of an estate. In one described example, such techniques provide a centralized estate resource system (ERS) to create, manage, track, and coordinate task checklists and actions for each of the teams including interactions between teams. The ERS may assign specific personnel within each team to a given estate, send notifications and warnings to appropriate team members when tasks are due or complete, and facilitate messaging between team members to communicate when information is needed or has become available. The ERS may provide updated status and information across teams without violating privacy or security regulations, as may be the case with email, text messages, or voice messages.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method according to one embodiment includes receiving data associated with a driver performing actions. At least some of the actions trigger events emitted by an event emitter. Information, from the received data, about the performed actions is logged in an action log. An event observer is instructed to log the events emitted by the event emitter that the event observer observes. The observed events are logged in an event log. The information of the action log and information of the event log is compared based on a rule, and a validity of the event emitter is determined based on results of the comparing. A computer program product according to another embodiment includes a computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith. The program instructions are readable and/or executable by a processor to cause the processor to perform the foregoing method.

Abstract: A well system includes a wellhead positionable at a surface of a wellbore. The well system also includes a ball valve for coupling to the wellhead. The ball valve is movable between an open position and a closed position. Further, the well system includes a hollow core electric motor positionable adjacent to the ball valve to move the ball valve between the open position and the closed position. Furthermore, the well system includes a power source that provides electric power to the hollow core electric motor.

Abstract: An animal leash apparatus, attachable to a pet, includes an elongated flexible member or leash and an elongated outer member. The elongated outer member imparts rigidity to an elongated, distal portion of the elongated flexible member or leash, and is configured to maintain a predetermined shape and thereby maintain the elongated flexible member in the predetermined shape such that the elongated flexible member and elongated outer member extend away from a pet's legs. The elongated flexible member may include a clip, facilitating securing the elongated flexible member to a pet collar or harness. The elongated flexible member may include a handle, facilitating grasping the elongated flexible member by a user.

Abstract: Embodiments of an equalizing device for use with a safety valve and a safety valve are provided herein. In one embodiment, the equalizing device includes at least a tubular having a central bore extending axially there through, the tubular having a ball seat. The equalizing device may further include a ball positioned proximate the ball seat, the ball configured to move from a first position engaged with the ball seat to a second position disengaged from the ball seat to equalize pressure across the safety valve, and an arced ring positioned radially outside the ball, the arced ring configured to keep the ball engaged with the ball seat when in the first position and maintain the ball radially outside the ball seat when in the second position.

Operational transformation (OT) is a high performance synchronization method, but difficult and time-consuming to implement in many cases, and cannot be partially implemented throughout a system. Methods and systems provide for blending operational transformation with other synchronization methods in the same collaborative software application, allowing operational transformation to be used in situations where it cannot be implemented throughout a system.

Abstract: A dual function shovel and rhino tool that allows a firefighter (or other user) to easily and quickly shift between a shovel and a rhino. The dual function tool is particularly useful in wildland firefighting since only one tool needs to be carried. The dual function tool is not limited to firefighting use but can also be used when one needs two tools in the work of operation they are performing.
