  • Publication number: 20110289846
Abstract: A process is provided where a waste stream is directed to an evaporator that produces a vapor having volatile compounds. The vapor including the volatile compounds is directed through a vapor scrubber that contacts the volatile compounds with a scratching solution. The scrubbing solution reacts with the gaseous volatile compounds in the vapor such that the volatile compounds pass from a vapor state into the scrubbing solution and form volatile compounds in the liquid scrubbing solution. The scrubbing solution is collected and recycled.

  • Publication number: 20110143828
Abstract: A video game application that interactively simulates how a budget can be managed for health care prevention and treatment in a community based upon several factors. These factors include the availability and type of prevention and treatment facilities in the community, how effectively a populace uses available facilities, and how effectively costs are managed for increasing the capacity of treatment and prevention in the community. A player can advance to a next round of the video game if all of the virtual populace has either received treatment for an illness (when they are ill) or participated in a prevention action. Also, to successfully complete a round, the number of emergency hospital visits that occur during a round are less than a predetermined parameter and the costs incurred during the round do not exceed the current round's budget. Health indicators may also be associated with members of the virtual populace.

  • Patent number: 7712670
Abstract: A data collection device is configured so that the device receives and processes various radio signals and automatically changes an operating mode of the data collection device in response to the processing of the radio signals or in response to the presence or absence of radio signals without manually inputting any commands with use of a user interface. By configuring the data collection device to automatically change an operating mode in response to sensed radio signals, operating modes are presented to an operator that may be tailored to the preferences of the present operator and/or tailored to the particular requirements of the device at present location of the device. With highly featurized operating modes being automatically and selectively presented to operators under specific circumstances, an operator is relieved of a variety of burdensome and time consuming exercises that are typically associated with learning how to access particular functions of a highly featurized electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20040230672
Abstract: This invention relates to recognizing patterns in people's individual listening habits and creating streams of playback based on those listening patterns. This invention does this by observing what information units the persons use and calculating how much the person likes each information unit in their collection and what information units each unit uses in close proximity to it. This invention can be applied to both software and hardware MP3, CD, and other such media devices that would be recognized by one with knowledge in these arts. The invention can be used with such devices so that it learns the patterns of the person using that device.
