Abstract: A garment worn by a wearer has an impact absorbing material comprising arrays of various hexagonal or other deformable polygonal-shaped structures positioned between an exterior surface and an interior surface. When force is applied to the exterior surface, the structures of the impact absorbing materials deform (e.g., buckle) in a desired manner, reducing the force received by the interior surface.

Abstract: A method of embedding data in a printed output having at least two-dimensions is described in which content data for the printed output and data to be embedded in the printed output are obtained. An input property value for a content element from the content data is determined. This is used to determine an output value for a probabilistic distribution of a set of output material compositions for a spatial element of the printed output, corresponding to the content element, based on the data to be embedded and the input property value.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a machine determining a quality ranking of a subject. The machine accesses a current input representing answers to a plurality of questions about the subject, each answer representing a ranking of a quality of the subject at a specified time, where the subject has a geographic location. The machine determines, based on the current input, an overall ranking of the quality of the subject. The machine determines, based on the current input and based on one or more of input received about the subject at a time different from the specified time and input about other subjects proximate to the geographic location, a future ranking of the quality of the subject. The machine transmits a graphical output corresponding to the overall ranking and the determined future ranking of the quality of the subject.

The method and system may include receiving a plurality of operating data from the at least one power plant machine. The method and system may also store the plurality of operating data in at least one data storage device. The method and system may also determine whether at least one performance indicator is within a range; and if the at least one performance indicator is outside of the range, then automatically notify a support network.

Abstract: A method of composing a composite still image from multiple still image instances of a time varying scene comprises encoding the still image instances using an encoding scheme arranged to encode differences between a difference image instance and a reference image instance as difference information. The method further comprises composing the composite still image from one of the difference image and instance and the reference image instance together with the difference information.
