The system includes a device and method for cataloguing a plurality of audiovisual recordings in the database. Additionally, the system includes a device and method for cataloguing each parameter of each scene of each of the plurality of audiovisual recordings in the database. The system receives a search request, the search request including at least one search parameter, each of the search parameters corresponding to one of the scene parameters. Additionally, the system includes a device and method for comparing the search request with the scene parameters in the database. Finally, the system includes a device and method for selecting, identifying and displaying material for each of the plurality of audiovisual recordings having the parameters matching the search parameters.
