    Abstract: A system and method for transmission of alphanumeric messaging between mobile subscribers and an external system to send messages directly to the mobile subscriber's existing mobile phone to query them, for example, on the psychometric scale of interest. The resulting daily assessments may then be stored in a database that may be accessed via the interne to aid both the patient and a care provider in tracking the state and progress of the illness or symptoms which are being treated. It may allow the database to be queried to display trends over varying time intervals at any time in the past. The system and method may also provide for automatically notifying care providers if the patient is acutely having severe symptoms for a redefined duration and severity, and may facilitate a way to increase patient compliance with monitoring.
