  • Patent number: 9313210
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for the automated suggestion of a privacy level setting for a new connection in a social network. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for automated suggestions of privacy level settings for a new connection in a social network is provided. The method includes receiving a new connection for an end user of a social network and identifying mutual connections between the new connection and the end user. Thereafter, a suggested privacy setting for the new connection can be displayed in a display of a computer based upon privacy settings of the identified mutual connections. Optionally, a selection can be received of a different privacy setting than the suggested privacy setting and the different privacy setting can be established for the new connection.

  • Patent number: 8901916
Abstract: A method of testing an electronic device includes measuring radio frequency emissions at a plurality of positions relative to a trusted unit of a particular electronicdevice during operation of the trusted unit, and measuring radio frequency emissions at the same plurality of positions relative to a second unit of the particular electronic device. For each of the plurality of positions, the radio frequency emissions measured from the second unit are compared to the radio frequency emissions measured from the trusted unit. The method then determines whether there is any frequency at which the measured amplitude of the radio frequency emissions from the second unit and the measured amplitude of the radio frequency emissions from the trusted unit exhibit a statistically significant difference.

  • Patent number: 8768975
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for presenting intelligent tagging suggestions for a photograph are provided. Embodiments include identifying, by a tagging module, contextual information indicating circumstances in which the photograph was taken; based on the contextual information, selecting, by the tagging module, candidate profiles from a plurality of friend profiles associated with a profile of a user; and suggesting, by the tagging module to the user, the selected candidate profiles as potential friends to tag in the photograph.

  • Publication number: 20140123163
Abstract: A method and a computer program product are disclosed for managing the display of content from a content feed. In one embodiment, a content feed includes a dynamically-generated set of content items electronically fed to one or more device. A priority content item is identified along with a plurality of other content items related by subject matter to each other and to the priority content item. A display status of the priority content item is then monitored, indicating whether the priority content item has been displayed for a user. The visibility of the related content items on the one or more device is controlled according to the display status of the priority content item.

  • Publication number: 20140123164
Abstract: A method includes generating a content feed, wherein the content feed includes a dynamically-generated set of content items electronically fed to one or more device for selectively displaying on the one or more device. A priority content item and a plurality of related content items in the content feed are identified, wherein the plurality of related content items include subject matter that is common with the priority content item. A display status of the priority content item is monitored indicating whether the priority content item has been displayed for a user. The visibility of the related content items on the one or more device is then controlled according to the display status of the priority content item.

  • Publication number: 20130152157
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for automated filtering of content viewing rights in a social network. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for automated filtering of content viewing rights in a social network includes selecting content directed for publication to different members of a social network executing in memory of a host server and computing a context for the content. The method additionally includes applying a rule to the context and to at least one member profile corresponding to one of the members of the social network in order to determine whether or not the content is to be blocked from viewing by the one of the members based upon a relationship between the member profile and the computed context. Thereafter, access to the content by the one of the members is permitted when permitted by the rule.

  • Publication number: 20120330619
Abstract: In a disclosed example, nets are used to represent connections between elements on different pages of an electronic drawing in a software package for computer aided drawings. Previews for these connections are automatically generated, such as during an automated inventory of the electronic drawing. The automatically-generated connection previews are stored in memory, such as in a preview database, for subsequent recall and display. The user may select a net to recall and display the previously generated connection preview. The user may then select the displayed preview to be added to a dynamic workspace, such as by clicking on the connection preview using a pointing device. Elements and connections added to the dynamic workspace are fully editable from the dynamic workspace. Any changes made in the dynamic workspace are updated to the pages containing the changed elements.
