  • Patent number: 8434533
Abstract: A load-bearing structure for a bearing support intended to be mounted on a rim inside a tire fitted on a vehicle to support the tread of the tire in the event of a loss of inflation pressure is provided. The load-bearing structure includes a base, a crown, and an annular body connecting the base and the crown. The body includes a plurality of partitions distributed regularly circumferentially, extending axially substantially from one side to the other of the body and radially from the base to the crown with a mean orientation relative to the radial direction of between 10 and 50 degrees, in that two circumferentially adjacent partitions exhibit contrary orientations relative to the radial direction and in that two adjacent partitions define with the base and/or the crown cavities in the form of triangles or trapezoids.

  • Patent number: 8100183
Abstract: A siphon tube having a polymeric material into which at least one continuous reinforcing agent is embedded, and wherein the at least one reinforcing agent runs substantially the length of the siphon tube. The polymer material can be one or more polymers selected from one or more high density polyethylenes, one or more polyamides, and one or more fluoropolymers.

  • Publication number: 20090256370
Abstract: Energy absorbers particularly well suited for use in a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian so as to reduce collision energy transmitted to the pedestrian and having a width w, a height h, a front wall a, a top wall c and a bottom wall d such that the height is between 0.8 w and 1.0 w; the thickness of the front wall (t-a) is between 0.06 w and 0.09 w; the thickness of the top wall (t-c) is between 0.03 w and 0.09 w; the thickness of the bottom wall (t-d) is between 0.03 w an 0.09 w; and the energy absorber is made substantially of a thermoplastic material having an elongation at break higher than 20% between ?20° C. and +60° C. (measured according ISO 527-1/-2); a yield strength between 30 and 40 MPa (measured according ISO 527-1/-2); modulus of elasticity between 1000-1500 MPa (measured according ISO 527-1/-2); and hardness Shore D between 50 ShD and 80 ShD (measured according ISO 868).

  • Patent number: 4245696
Abstract: In a heat exchanger, a thin tube plate is reinforced by means of a heavy support plate spaced therefrom. The tubes are fixed to the tube plate and pass through enlarged openings in the support plate but are anchored to the support plate by anchoring devices which allow the liquid to be heated to pass from the chamber provided between the two plates through the annular passages between the tubes and the enlarged openings of the support plate.
