  • Publication number: 20140326237
Abstract: The invention relates to a portable vacuum connector device 100. The connector device can be attached to various surfaces such as surfaces of CT scanner or other medical equipment by means of vacuum cups or connectors 102. The vacuum connector device 100 has a connection structure 101 such as a rail to which a portable medical device can be attached via its connection feature 202, e.g. a hook. Accordingly, the connector device 100 makes may make it easier to let the portable medical device follow the patient as the patient is moved from location to location. An air pressure sensor 104 is provided for monitoring the vacuum level and for enabling generation of an alarm via an external monitoring device such as the portable medical device 201.

  • Publication number: 20130311688
Abstract: The personal data interchange (PDI) device of this invention is based upon a USB flash memory card interface and a simple direct connection operating feature for information transfer. This device may have the physical appearance of a 1-inch plastic cube or another geometric fob design to be attached to a person's key chain, purse, etc. The device may be configured to accept its owner's personal information in a standard electronic business card (vCard) format. The business version of the device has both a USB plug and USB receptacle. The male version of the device has a USB plug and the female version of the device has a USB receptacle plus a USB adapter. When a USB plug or USB receptacle is properly interfaced to an appropriate gender connector on a companion device, PC, PDA, or a smart phone, a person's information would be automatically transferred to the said devices.

  • Publication number: 20130073262
Abstract: A method includes obtaining a signal that includes a plurality of cycles and generating a map that maps motion phases to the signal based on both an amplitude and a slope of the signal. A system includes a processor that identifies a set of motion signal timestamps, for a plurality of motion cycles in a motion signal indicative of cyclic motion of a moving object, based on a predetermined motion phase of interest and a phase-to-amplitude/slope mapping, wherein the set of motion signal timestamps correspond to a common signal amplitude. A method include identifying a peak of a plurality of peaks in a motion cycle of a noisy cyclic signal having irregular periodicity, wherein the peak corresponds to a point lying between two points with amplitudes below a predetermined threshold, comparing points before and after the peak with the peak, and identifying the peak as a local maximum when the peak is greater than the points.

  • Patent number: 8297174
Abstract: A weapon may include a translatable recoil mass and two translatable counterweights disposed on opposite sides of the recoil mass. Each counterweight may have a mass that is substantially one-half a mass of the recoil mass. A pair of racks may be fixed to respective ones of the counterweights and a second pair of racks may be fixed to opposites sides of the recoil mass. Pinions may engage the counterweight and recoil mass racks. A receiver may be fixed with respect to the recoil mass and the pair of counterweights. The directions of translation of the recoil mass are substantially opposite directions of translation of the two counterweights.

  • Publication number: 20120242426
Abstract: A broadband waveguide incorporates various reflection suppression techniques to reduce reflections in signals communicated thereby. The waveguide includes one or more filaments that each include a first and second end. A first matrix may be configured proximate the first end(s) while a second matrix may be configured proximate an intermediate location between the first and second ends. A damping material may cover a portion of the filament(s) that extends from the second matrix to the second end(s) (including the second end(s) themselves) and/or the second end(s) of the filament(s) is/are shaped to at least partially suppress reflections of the signal therefrom. When configured with multiple filaments, at least two of the filaments may have differing lengths that extend from the second matrix and also operate to at least partially suppress reflections of a signal.
