The apparatus includes an audio mixer console including a processor and being configured to receive a test command from a mobile device. The audio mixer console is further configured to transmit, from a port, an audio signal to a playback device, the port being associated with a channel of the audio mixing console, and receive, from the mobile device, a label signal including a channel label to be assigned to the channel from the mobile device in response to a user input. The audio mixer console is further configured to assign the channel label to the channel in response to the label signal.
