  • Patent number: 9044622
Abstract: Inverse emulsions made by inverse emulsion polymerization have a disperse aqueous phase comprising a solution or dispersion of at least one water soluble polymer, particularly a polymer that forms a viscous solution or dispersion in water, and a continuous oil phase which is or includes an ester oil including an alkoxylated alcohol group. The inclusion of ester oil including an alkoxylated alcohol group provides these oils in emulsions, particularly personal care emulsions made by inversion of the inverse emulsions on dilution with water.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 22, 2010
Date of Patent: June 2, 2015
    Assignee: Croda International PLC
Inventors: Kim Moira Carmichael, Adam John Limer, Patrick James Colver, Surinder Pall Chahal
  • Publication number: 20150010600
Abstract: Disclosed are gel compositions that include (a) polyhydric alcohol, (b) water, (c) gelling agent, (d) fragrance-delivery particles having i) at least one shell formed by a step-growth polymerization reaction, ii) interior said shell, a core comprising at least one region formed by chain-grown polymerization of selected monomers, iii) optionally, surfactant grafted to said shell, wherein the fragrance delivery particles have an average diameter of less than 20 microns, and (e) free fragrance, wherein the compositions are in the form of deodorant gel sticks.

  • Publication number: 20140378369
Abstract: The invention provides a benefit agent delivery particle having an average diameter of less than 50 micron comprising; at least one shell formed by a step-growth polymerisation reaction, preferably involving an isocyanate monomer, more preferably a urethane and/or a urea, interior said shell, at least one region formed by chain-growth polymerisation reaction (preferably a free-radical polymerisation) which does not involve an isocyanate, c) optionally, a benefit agent interior to said shell, and/or a deposition aid exterior to said shell. The invention further provides a process for the preparation of such particles wherein the shell is formed prior to the chain-growth polymerisation of the at least one region interior of the shell, preferably be forming the shell at a temperature at which the chain-growth reaction is inhibited.
