  • Publication number: 20240251807
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for releasing active ingredients, including volatile active ingredients, are described. The active ingredients may be released for agricultural applications prior to, during, and/or after harvest of produce. In some instances, the devices, systems, and/or methods promote relatively rapid release of active ingredients from a bed containing a porous and solid delivery material (e.g., a particulate material) via direction of gaseous fluid flow through the bed. For example, a pump (e.g., a fan) connected to a housing comprising the bed may propel gas (e.g., air) through the bed, thereby inducing, maintaining, and/or accelerating release of the active ingredient. In some embodiments, the devices, systems, and/or methods described herein facilitate fast, safe, and efficient fumigation of agricultural and/or horticultural products with active ingredients, before, during, and/or after their harvest.

  • Publication number: 20240248149
Abstract: A resistor ladder comprising identical resistors is disposed electrically in parallel with a multicell battery to calibrate voltage-controlled oscillators (VOCs) or analog-to-digital convertors (ADCs) for voltage balancing the battery cells in the multicell battery. Switches in a first state provide the voltage across each resistor as inputs to the VCOs or ADCs. The number of oscillations of the output signal of each VCO or ADC over a predetermined time period are compared to determine an offset error. Switches in a second state provide the voltage across each battery cell as inputs to the VCOs or ADCs. The battery cells with a higher relative voltage can be discharged until they are balanced. Some aspects describe temperature-adjusted and interpolated determinations of electrical quantities in the cells such as voltage and/or current.

  • Patent number: 12047440
Abstract: In a service mesh, back-pressure is applied and relieved as needed by a control mechanism which is applied between pairs of services to control the rate at which service requests are made from one of service to the other via monitoring hardware and/or software metrics. A proxy of one service is monitored to observe the rate at which it receives service requests from the other service. If it is observed that the monitored metrics have breached allowable limits, back-pressure is applied to reduce the rate at which the other proxy transmits these service requests. Through continued monitoring of the proxy, the back-pressure can be later relieved when appropriate by increasing the permitted request rate.

  • Publication number: 20240157399
Abstract: An acoustic matching structure is used to increase the power radiated from a transducing element with a higher impedance into a surrounding acoustic medium with a lower acoustic impedance. The acoustic matching structure consists of a thin, substantially planar cavity bounded by a two end walls and a side wall. The end walls of the cavity are formed by a blocking plate wall and a transducing element wall separated by a short distance (less than one quarter of the wavelength of acoustic waves in the surrounding medium at the operating frequency). The end walls and side wall bound a cavity with diameter approximately equal to half of the wavelength of acoustic waves in the surrounding medium. In operation, a transducing element generates acoustic oscillations in the fluid in the cavity.
