Patent number: 11623712Abstract: A mechanism and method for externally adjusting the mid-valve stiffness is described and enables adjustment of a mid-valve functionality without disassembly of a suspension system incorporating the invention. The effect of this adjustment on the damping curve is far greater than either low-speed compression adjusters or conventional high-speed compression adjusters. The apparatus combines the valve-stiffening system of a high speed compression adjuster with the sensitivity of the mid-valve. Externally accessible adjustment members are operatively coupled to the mid-valve components located internally in a fork so that manipulation of the adjustment members causes adjustment of the mid-valve and the damping force created by the mid-valve. The apparatus may be utilized in closed cartridge suspension forks (CCSF) and open cartridge suspension forks (OCSF) and other shocks or suspension dampers.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2021Date of Patent: April 11, 2023Assignee: KREFT, LLCInventor: Adam Krefting

Publication number: 20220281270Abstract: Apparatus and method for installing bicycle tires on rims, and removing the tires from the rims, both with and without tire inserts, is disclosed. The apparatus greatly eases the process of installing and removing a tire from a rim, especially a bicycle tire, and even more especially when a tire insert is used. The apparatus includes an axle that is received in and securely attached to the wheel's hub. A handle is pivotally attached to the axle and a tire removal and installation head is slidably located on the handle.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 3, 2022Publication date: September 8, 2022Inventor: Adam KREFTING

Patent number: 10787043Abstract: An insert for a pneumatic tire including an annular member adapted to contact at least 10% of an interior surface of the pneumatic tire and provide an outward pressure thereagainst.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2019Date of Patent: September 29, 2020Assignee: CushCore, Inc.Inventor: Adam Krefting

Patent number: 10703149Abstract: Air valve for a pneumatic tire has a threaded shaft between a first end defining an air inlet and an opposite, second end that is located within the bounded space of a tire mounted on a rim. The air passageway through the air valve has at least one outlet at the distal end of the valve that exists the device through a side portion rather than the terminal end of the device. In a preferred embodiment the air passageway is T-shaped so that air flowing into the tire flows in a non-linear path, exiting the air outlets transverse to the air flow through the inlet into the air passageway.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2018Date of Patent: July 7, 2020Assignee: CushCore Inc.Inventor: Adam Krefting

Patent number: 10639949Abstract: An annular and ring extends around the interior of a wheel/rim on which a tire is mounted. The inner diameter of the annular ring is sized for a snug fit on the wheel rim. A tensioning cable extends through the tubular ring and opposed arms are attached to the ring and are movable between disengaged and engaged positions. The apparatus is selectively movable by actuation of a cable tensioner between a first, disengaged position where the arms do not engage the tire and thereby lock it to the rim, and a second, engaged position in which the arm bear against the tire beads, capturing the tire beads between the rim flanges and the wing members to lock the tire to the rim and to create and/or enhances the air-tight seal between the tire and the rim. The bead lock apparatus may be beneficially used in combination with a foam insert for enhanced tire performance.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2018Date of Patent: May 5, 2020Assignee: CushCore, Inc.Inventor: Adam Krefting

Patent number: 10293640Abstract: An insert for a pneumatic tire including an annular member adapted to contact at least 10% of an interior surface of the pneumatic tire and provide an outward pressure thereagainst. An insert for a pneumatic tire including an annular member adapted to contact at least 10% of an interior surface of the pneumatic tire and provide an outward pressure thereagainst, and an inflatable bladder disposed adjacent to the annular member. A tire assembly including a pneumatic tire having an interior surface and an annular member contacting at least 10% of the interior surface and providing an outward pressure thereagainst.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2015Date of Patent: May 21, 2019Assignee: CushCore, LLLCInventor: Adam Krefting
