Abstract: Techniques for internet last-mile outage detection are disclosed herein. The techniques include methods for monitoring, by a network appliance associated with a network, a plurality of network nodes, detecting, by the network appliance, that a network node of the plurality of network nodes in a last mile of the network has disconnected from the network, overlaying, by the network appliance, the network node over a network model for at least a portion of the network including the network node to generate a model overlay, and determining, by the network appliance, a last mile outage source associated with a disconnection of the network node by identifying a lowest common ancestor node of the network node from the model overlay. Systems and computer-readable media are also provided.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for determining a change in a state of performance of a given network application. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, at a network controller, a set of measurements for an application; determining, at the controller, a predicted goodput and an application response delay for the application; based on a comparison of each of the predicted goodput and the application response delay to a respective threshold, detecting a transition in state of performance of the application; and communicating the transition in the state of performance of the application to a network monitoring terminal.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for presenting an entertainment requester with a selection of entertainment events comprises determining a geographic location of the entertainment requester and conducting, with the aid of a processor, a search for at least one entertainment event within a search area encompassing in whole or in part the geographic location of the entertainment requester. A geographic location of one or more entertainment events revealed upon the search is then displayed to the user on a graphical user interface (GUI) of an electronic device of the entertainment requester. The entertainment requester may then check into an entertainment event selected from the one or more entertainment events.
