    Abstract: An apparatus and method for periodically sterilizing liquid dispensing apparatus, particularly vending machines, comprises circulating liquid feedstock via a return duct which incorporates an ozone generator. Ozone uptake is enhanced by chilling the circulating liquid. At the end of the sterilizing cycle a carbon based filter may be used to remove ozone from the circulating liquid.
