  • Publication number: 20180222155
Abstract: The present disclosure describes thermally insulating glass laminates that mitigate or prevent heat loss from heated cavities. In some embodiments, the thermally insulating glass laminates comprise a non-uniform low or non-conductive coating layer that forms a chemical bond with at least one inner surface of the substrates, wherein the coating layer can have a thickness of about 0.010 inches or less and forms a pattern that contacts about 30% or less of at least one inner surface of a substrate and helps form a plurality of sealed cavities of gas molecules between the substrates. Since there is a small amount of gas molecules in each cavity, convective heat transfer between the substrates is minimized thereby minimizing heat loss through the laminates into the surrounding environment.

  • Publication number: 20180224131
Abstract: The present disclosure describes thermally insulating glass laminates that prevent heat from escaping from heated cavities. In some embodiments, the thermally insulating glass laminates comprise a low or non-conductive coating layer that forms a chemical bond with at least one substrate, wherein the coating layer has a thickness of about 0.010 inches or less, wherein a plurality of glass spacers is submerged in the coating layer, and wherein at least one sealed cavity of gas molecules is created between the substrates and around the glass spacers. Since there is a small amount of gas molecules in each cavity, convective heat transfer between the substrates is minimized thereby minimizing heat loss through the laminates into the surrounding environment.

  • Patent number: 9977412
Abstract: An electronic circuit to capture legacy lock controller pulses and reduce the energy consumed. The legacy pulse is captured, converted to power to power the circuit and the direction of the pulse—polarity—is determined. A substitute pulse is created at lower power and sent to a motor actuator in the lock. The total power consumed is substantially reduced by reducing the duration and voltage of the pulse. In the preferred design, the circuit also detects control voltages for solenoid locks and produces suitable control signals for a motor actuator.
