Abstract: An electrical connector subassembly is provided. The subassembly includes a housing; a terminal position assurance device connected to the housing; and a wire dress cover adapted to be attached to the housing in at least two positions. The two positions include a first position wherein the wire dress cover covers the terminal position assurance device and a second position wherein the wire dress cover is adapted to cover wires extending to electrical terminals inserted into the housing.

Abstract: An electrical connector including a housing comprising at least two contact receiving areas and at least two contact terminals connected to the housing in the contact receiving areas. A first one of the contact terminals includes a combined housing latch and shorting member. The combined housing latch and shorting member is latched behind a portion of the housing to retain the first contact terminal to the housing. The combined housing latch and shorting member directly electrically contacts a second one of the contact terminals. The combined housing latch and shorting member is resiliently deflectable and adapted to be moved by a portion of a mating electrical connector to electrically disconnect from the second contact terminal and still be retained latched behind the portion of the housing.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an electrical terminal. The electrical terminal includes a frame, a first spring, and a second spring. The frame has a receptacle section adapted to receive a male contact. The first spring is movably captured in the receptacle section. The second spring is movably captured in the receptacle section. The second spring has a first side and a second side. The first side slidably contacts the first spring. The second side comprises a contact surface for contacting the male contact when the male contact is inserted into the receptacle section.

Abstract: An electrical connector including a plurality of electrical terminals; and a housing having the electrical terminals connected thereto. The housing includes a first housing member and a second housing member movably connected to the first housing member. The first housing member includes snap-lock latches which lock the terminals in terminal receiving channels of the first housing member. The terminal receiving channels include a first row of the terminal receiving channels with a first one of the terminal receiving channels and a second one of the terminal receiving channels being separated from each other by a wall of the first housing member, and the first housing member having a substantially open wall area between a third one of the terminal receiving channels and the second terminal receiving channel. The second housing member is adapted to at least partially close the open wall area.

The CPA member is adapted to move the latch after the housing is mated with the mating electrical connector.

The user contact member has a first extending arm. The first extending arm includes a first cam projection. The housing has a first arm slot. The first arm slot receives the first extending arm. The plurality of electrical contacts are mounted in the housing. The slide is positioned between the first extending arm and the second housing. The slide includes a first cam slot and a second cam slot. The first cam slot receives the first cam projection. The second cam slot is adapted to receive a second cam projection of a mating electrical connector. The electrical connector is configured to receive at least one wire between the housing and the user contact member.

Abstract: An electrical terminal including a conductor connection section, a mating terminal connection section, a deflectable latch, and a deflectable anti-snag ramp. The latch is adapted to latch with an electrical connector housing when the terminal is fully inserted into the electrical connector housing. The deflectable anti-snag ramp is located generally behind the deflectable latch. The deflectable anti-snag ramp is located directly behind a latching edge of the deflectable latch when the deflectable anti-snag ramp is not deflected by the electrical connector housing.
