  • Patent number: 9881269
Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product manages update operations for a hardware resource. A time, date, and location of the future meeting for which a predetermined feature from a hardware resource has been designated as being required for the future meeting is retrieved from a calendar. A determination is made as to whether or not the predetermined feature of the hardware resource is scheduled for updating during the time and date of the future meeting at said location. A level of detriment that will occur to the future meeting if the future meeting proceeds without the updating of the predetermined feature from the hardware resource is determined. A schedule for updating the hardware resource is then adjusted according to the level of detriment that will occur to the future meeting if the future meeting proceeds without the updating of the predetermined feature from the hardware resource.

  • Publication number: 20170349262
Abstract: A decompression panel assembly for use in an aircraft includes a frame including a first surface and an opposing second surface, wherein the frame defines a grille opening and at least partially defines a flow path opening that are each defined between the first and second surfaces. The decompression panel assembly also includes a first panel and a second panel pivotally coupled together at a central hinge. A retention plate is releasably coupled to the first and second panels and is configured to move between a closed position and an open position. The first and second panels at least partially cover the grille opening in a planar position when the retention plate is in the closed position, and the first and second panels move away from the grille opening to a folded position when the retention plate is in the open position.

  • Patent number: 9811133
Abstract: A method enables the sharing of power between multiple battery-powered electronic devices. A determination is made as to which tasks, from multiple pending tasks on multiple battery-powered electronic devices, are to be selected for completion. A power requirement for each of the tasks that have been selected for completion is determined, and the tasks are prioritized. One or more processors calculates a quantity of amp-hours that are available to charge batteries on the battery-powered electronic devices. A power distribution hardware controller then distributes available amp-hours from the battery source to one or more of the battery-powered electronic devices based on the priority of the tasks.

  • Publication number: 20170299324
Abstract: A flare gun with a barrel configured to be released in a horizontal direction is described. In embodiments, the horizontally opening barrel provides greater accuracy and ease of mounting additional equipment to the flare gun. In embodiments, the horizontally opening barrel also includes an in built extractor system to automatically extract the spent shell casings as the barrel is released. A compact and reliable hammer arrangement has been disclosed that provides better protection against rust and is hence more suited for marine applications. This hammer arrangement can be employed in either a horizontal or vertical barrel configuration. Additionally, extractor systems and barrel release systems to be employed in either a horizontal or vertical barrel configuration are described.

  • Patent number: 9792426
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method is performed on a shared-resources system. The method includes creating an anonymous target. The method further includes assigning shared resources to the anonymous target. In addition, the method includes receiving a request for anonymous access from an anonymous user of a client system. The method also includes, responsive to the request, performing the following: generating anonymous-user credentials for the anonymous user; determining the shared resources assigned to the anonymous target; based, at least in part, on the determining, communicating a list of authorized resources to the client system; receiving a request from the client system to access a target resource from the list of authorized resources; and causing an anonymous-user account to be created on the target resource using the anonymous-user credentials.

  • Patent number: 9769437
Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product enables the sharing of an overlapping area on a shared projection. A system detects an overlapping area on a shared projection, which presents content from a first projection and a second projection. A computing device identifies any redundant resources, which perform the same function as one another, in the first projection and the second projection. A consolidated resource, which provides the same function as the redundant resources, is defined and/or created, and then displayed in the overlapping area.

  • Patent number: 9740440
Abstract: A RAID controller stores data in a hybrid asymmetric mix of a RAID 1 mirror and a parity-based RAID array, wherein a first side of the RAID 1 mirror includes a single data storage device storing an operating system image and a second side of the RAID 1 mirror includes a plurality of data storage devices forming a parity-based RAID array. The RAID controller normally calculates parity using data from both the single data storage device and the plurality of data storage devices. However, in response to a user command, the RAID controller recalculates parity stripes on each of the plurality of data storage devices using a predetermined data pattern for a logical data storage device logically replacing the single data storage device storing the operating system. Accordingly, the same stripe count is maintained and the parity-based RAID array maintains redundancy despite physical separation of the single data storage device.
