  • Publication number: 20140095270
Abstract: A system and method for managing grants is provided. A method includes multiple entities associated with a grant, each having an instance of a grant management application. Each instance of the grant management application includes the capability to receive disparate fiscal, human resource, and program data associated with the grant, and to compare the combined data to a goal of the grant to determine the entity's performance to the goal. The combination of instances of the grant management application allows for a complete roll-up of individual entity's performance into a total performance for the funder of the grant and according to the funder's specifications.

  • Publication number: 20130012527
Abstract: The preQ1 riboswitch is a target for antibiotics and other small molecule therapies. The preQ1 riboswitch and portions thereof can be used to regulate the expression or function of RNA molecules and other elements and molecules. The preQ1 riboswitch and portions thereof can be used in a variety of other methods to, for example, identify or detect compounds. Compounds can be used to stimulate, active, inhibit and/or inactivate the preQ1 riboswitch. The preQ1 riboswitch and portions thereof, both alone and in combination with other nucleic acids, can be used in a variety of constructs and RNA molecules and can be encoded by nucleic acids.

  • Patent number: 7356470
Abstract: A multi-mail system and method is disclosed in which a sender may convey and a recipient can realize emotional aspects associated with substantive content of a multi-mail message by receiving a message that is more than textual in nature. Voice recognition technology and programmatic relation of sound and graphics may be used to produce a talking image. In one embodiment, the image may include the user's own visual and/or audio likeness. In an alternate embodiment, the image may comprise any available visual and/or audio display selected by the user. The multi-mail message may be inputted by a user in a text format and transposed into a format including the selected image and/or voice. In an alternate embodiment, a spoken message may be converted into a format including the selected image and/or voice. The formatted messages are then stored and/or transmitted via an email system or some other electronic network.
