  • Publication number: 20230214274
Abstract: A method for application orchestration and management in a hybrid applications environment that comprises both VNF applications and CNF applications can include receiving an application descriptor that describes features of a new application to be deployed. A determination can be made, based at least in part on the application descriptor, whether the new application should be deployed as a VNF application or as a CNF application. The new application can be deployed as a VNF application when the application descriptor indicates that the new application should be deployed as a VNF application and when the available VNF infrastructure is sufficient to deploy the new VNF application. Conversely, the new application can be deployed as a CNF application when the application descriptor indicates that the new application should be deployed as a CNF application and when the available CNF infrastructure is sufficient to deploy the new CNF application.

  • Patent number: 11680677
Abstract: This application is directed to a passively-cooled electronic device including a housing, a plurality of electronic assemblies and a plurality of thermally conductive parts. The electronic assemblies are enclosed in the housing and include a first electronic assembly and a second electronic assembly. The first and second electronic assemblies are disposed proximately to each other within the housing, and the second electronic assembly is substantially sensitive to heat, including heat generated by operation of the first electronic assembly. The thermally conductive parts are coupled between the first electronic assembly and the housing, and configured to create a first plurality of heat conduction paths to conduct the heat generated by the first electronic assembly away from the second electronic assembly without using a fan. At least a subset of the thermally conductive parts mechanically supports one or both of the first and second electronic assemblies.

  • Publication number: 20230033884
Abstract: Top-of-rack (TOR) switches are connected to a network fabric of a data center. Each TOR switch corresponds to a rack of the data center, and is configured to provide access to the network fabric for computing devices mounted in the rack. In one method, a TOR switch is mounted in a rack. The TOR switch is connected to a network fabric of a data center. A lock is used to control physical access to the rack. A request to physically access the rack is received from a computing device (e.g., a badge implementing a security token, or a mobile device). The request includes authentication credentials. The computing device is then authenticated. In response to authenticating the computing device, the lock is configured to provide physical access to the rack.

  • Publication number: 20220417182
Abstract: Top-of-rack (TOR) switches are connected to a network fabric of a data center. Each TOR switch corresponds to a rack of the data center, and is configured to provide access to the network fabric for computing devices mounted in the rack. In one method, a client device of a user is used to select various network service options. The service options correspond to services that can be provided to computing equipment of the user that is mounted in various racks of the data center. In response to receiving the selection of one or more service options, the network fabric of the data center is configured to connect the computing equipment to the selected services. In one approach, the network fabric is configured by creating and/or configuring one or more virtual networks to provide the connection to the services.

  • Publication number: 20220390917
Abstract: A system for updating a device in a building management system (BMS). The system includes a third-party device and a device manager of a control network. The device manager updates the third-party device and includes a processing circuit that determines that the third-party device has been discovered on the control network. The processing circuit further populates a template with a set of received data from the third-party device and maps the third-party device with control network based on the populated template of received data. The processing circuit further configures the third-party device to operate in the control network, wherein configuring the third-party device comprises transforming a data exchange format of the third-party device.

  • Publication number: 20220354720
Abstract: Safety guards for use with a bed rail are disclosed. A safety guard may be coupled to a mattress without being coupled to a bed rail, or a safety guard may be coupled to a mattress and to a bed rail. The safety guards may reduce a risk of entrapment between the mattress and the bed rail by distributing weight on the mattress across a wide surface area. A safety guard may be disposed underneath a sheet on the mattress. The safety guard may remain coupled to the mattress without inhibiting changing of sheets on the mattress.

  • Publication number: 20220321503
Abstract: Top-of-rack (TOR) switches are connected to a network fabric of a data center. Each TOR switch corresponds to a respective rack of the data center, and is configured to provide access to the network fabric for computing devices mounted in the respective rack. A request is received, from a client device via a portal of the data center, to provide IP connectivity to one or more computing devices mounted in a rack. IP addresses are assigned that correspond to the IP connectivity. A virtual network is created in a network fabric of the data center. The created virtual network is associated with the assigned IP addresses. One or more of the TOR switches are configured to connect one or more ports of each respective TOR switch to the created virtual network.

  • Publication number: 20220314165
Abstract: A system and method recover process gas from a source volume at a source pressure to a destination volume at an equal or greater pressure. A regulation process receive the process gas from the source volume and steps down the pressure. Each regulation uses one or more stage each using a pressure control valve for pressure step down and a heat exchanger for reheating the process gas thereafter. A gas scrubber receives the process gas from the regulation stages and collecting liquid from the process gas. A compression process receives the process gas from the gas scrubber and steps up the intermediate pressure to a final pressure. The compression can use one or more compression stages, each having a compression cycle for pressure step up and a heat exchanger for cooling the process gas thereafter. A discharge vessel receives the process gas from the compression process and discharges the process gas at the final pressure to the destination volume.
