  • Patent number: 4757300
Abstract: A brake adjustment monitoring device of use on motor vehicles to warn the operators when the brakes are in need of adjustment or repair. A magnet is adjustably secured to the brake shaft connected to an existing brake air chamber assembly. A magnetically sensitive switch which is electrically connected to a wear signaling device is mounted on a rod proximate to the brake shaft at a predetermined distance from the magnet, so as to close the switch by magnetic flux when the shaft of the air chamber moves outward too far after the operator touches the brake pedal of the vehicle. The switch when closed energizes the wear signaling device, such as a buzzer and bulb, to alert the operator that the brakes are in need of adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4685164
Abstract: This brake adjustment tool is for adjusting air brakes of automotive vehicles, and is a dual purpose tool that enables one man to properly adjust such brakes. Primarily, it consists of an elongated handle or main body having an opening for receiving a socket that is received on the adjustment screws of slack adjusters of air brakes, and a striker block is provided opposite the socket, for being struck by a hammer to free the usually seized locking collar on the adjustment screws. A channel grip member is also provided on the opposite end of the tool for receiving the slack adjuster to apply sufficient leverage to pull the slack adjuster to move the piston rod of the brake air cylinder, so as to enable the user to measure the stroke of the piston rod.

  • Patent number: 4583071
Abstract: This brake adjustment monitoring device, serves to warn the operators of trucks, buses and other vehicles, when their brakes are in need of adjustment or repair, which will effectively cut down the number of accidents caused by brakes being out of adjustment. Primarily, the device consists of a magnet adjustably secured to the shaft of the diaphragm within each air chamber. It also includes a block with a reed switch in it that is in cooperation with the magnet, so as to close the switch by magnetic force when the shaft of the air chamber moved outward too far, when the operator touches the brake pedal of the vehicle. It further includes a cab mounted indicator unit, having a buzzer and a bulb for alerting the operator when the brakes are in need of adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4313477
Abstract: An assembly for facilitating transfer of liquid into a container for holding liquid. A liquid dispenser is provided for expelling the liquid from the container. This liquid transfer assembly easily connects with the container upon removal of the dispenser for facilitating smooth transfer of liquid into the container through a funnel-like member. It includes an air passage for expelling air within the container while filling it with liquid. A valve is provided in operable communication with the air transfer passageway for preventing liquid from flowing therethrough.

  • Patent number: 4265374
Abstract: A liquid dispenser for a container which may have a flexible liner for holding liquid, for expelling the liquid therefrom. The dispenser is easily attachable to containers having a common inlet and outlet, and upon depression of a button will permit the liquid in the container to be dispensed from the normally closed dispenser outlet passage. A regulated source of pressurized gas is provided in the dispenser for assisting the flow of liquid if needed, as well as a safety pressure relief valve. The liner can be used when contact of the liquid with the pressurized gas is not preferred or permitted. In that case, the pressurized gas exerts pressure on the liner which forces the liquid out. Another feature is to provide an assembly for facilitating transfer of liquid into the container.
