The device includes a capture apparatus for capturing and storing an image of a patient wearing spectacles, and processor for determining on the image the center of a pupil of the patient, and indicating on a display the position of the lens over the eye of the patient wherein the optical center of the lens is aligned with the pupil of the patient.
